What Was Your Favorite Tv Show As A Child?
The Wonder Years. It really spoke to me; I thought I was Winnie. I still get butterflies thinking of the theme tune.
What Do You Watch Now?
Homeland leaves me on the edge of my seat and Veep is so smart; Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a queen.
Why Has Tv Overtaken Film As The Most Exciting Entertainment Medium?
Tv is the equivalent of independent filmmaking. You can take more risks because you don’t have to placate so many people, and it airs material [film] studios won’t touch. And now there are so many options on Tv, it forces creators to do their best work.
Which Show Has Changed The Game For Actresses?
Sex and the City was empowering:
it made executives take notice of the female audience. Seeing those women in charge of their careers and sex lives was groundbreaking.
What Draws You To A Role?
I look for a flaw; a window into someone that I can make really human. I don’t know any perfect women – and if I did I wouldn’t hang out with them. I’m also very conscious of gratuitous violence towards women: I’m raising a daughter to be empowered and a son to be someone’s husband, so I want to set an example.
How Would You Review The Path?
A modern-day take on what people may consider a cult, which claims to be doing good in the world. It explores what humans are willing to do in the name of religion.
What Would The Tv Show Of Your Life And Its Tagline Be?
