This is a Chilean designer who worked with Yves Saint Laurent during the 1980s and returned to his native Chile in the 1990s where he has become a very distinguished designer.

I haven;t heard much about what goes on in Chile's fashion world, so this was interesting.

You're welcome...I'm wondering if it is right to say that Chilean fashion is more conservative than Brazilian fashion (see my thread on the Sao Paulo Fashion Week); fashion does reflect the prevailing moods of each society I guess .

Chile has undergone a fairly conservative era under Pinochet of course, but it is also the most prosperous country in Latin America save Puerto Rico maybe. It will be interesting to see how things develop.

There is a pop star in Chile with my exact name (first and last) .
