Minimalism S/S 06

i so love minimalist stylings but it is not for everyone. i think it demands more self-consciousness than any other look. the face and body itself get into focus because nothing hides or distracts from it.

there is nothing more attractive than a beautiful person in a good and very simple styling but simple clothes may look bad on a not so perfect person. :(

i dont know if the following images would fall correctly into the vein of 'minimalism'.....but with all the frills and bells and whistles out there, they appeal to MY idea of 'minimalism'.....

Thanks for this thread!! I don't think I have ever really given up minimalism...and it just becomes easier on my eye if I see fewer overly blingey, misplaced and ill chosen accessories and details around me.

Relief!!

Minamalism is the maxim.

As said on another thread, we're getting into the habit of seeing a lot of minamilist nun and monk fashions.

i love all the dresses posted over the last few pages, all of them!!! so simple, yet highly sophisticated....

i like minimalism, but a little bit of accessories are fine. just as long as you dont over do it. less is more  after all

^ less is more... well said....... ... it was about time some designers realised that...

After going to London Fashion Weekend y/day and seeing hundreds of women fighting over flowery dresses embellished with sequins, feathers and marabou, it's refreshing looking at this thread and makes me wanna go minimalist for S/S 06.

Minimalist periods are also good for designers because they are forced to learn how to cut and tailor well. Shoddy craftmanship becomes glaringly obvious. Having said that, what did the va va voom houses do in the 1990s (being too young to remember)?
