I think she honestly googled herself and grabbed the first picture she liked of the internet and posted it on Instagram.

Could be, but why would she have at least 5 other photoshopped pictures on her Instagram then? It is definitely not an isolated case.

And Miranda has been awkwardly silent on Instagram. She usually puts up pictures everyday.

most people have done the similar thing. they use photoshop to cover their acne, dark circles, bags under eyes..etc and post edited pics to their facebook, twitter or instagram. i thought it was quite common and not a big deal.

I think the bigger issue here is not that Miranda has been photoshopping herself (she's a model, all of her work that gets released has been touched up in one way or another) but her hypocrisy. She preaches and preaches about 'treasuring yourself' and loving yourself the way you are, and then does this. It looks bad on her as a role model, which she has been trying to set herself up to be.

And I can't blame her for being afraid of posting on instagram - the comments on those recent photoshopped photos have been vicious (and hilarious).

Her no longer being with Mango is not a shocker since Mango is known to change campaign stars like every 2 seasons and Miranda has done 2 seasons with them already. Same thing happened to Kate Moss, Scarlett Johansson, Isabeli Fontana, etc. The word "replaced" is just too much, like people are implying she's been ditched by another company again.

As for her hypocrisy... I am not in the least bit surprised.
She must not have Treasured (Her)self, had her Noni juice or 294701 tablespoons of coconut oil those days.
I vote for an anti-smoking campaign next.

Further, I actually think it's genuinely sad. Is she unhappy with herself irrespective of her career or is she content with herself but unhappy with her career and her measurements will spark new interest? Sad face.

Part of me cannot help but wonder if it was a strategic move to post that photoshopped VS picture, where only she was airbrushed to look "better". She must have known people would notice, did she want people to notice? It's interesting that everyone is talking about her and not about the VS show right now. Sure, there are other retouched photos on her Instagram, but it's much more subtle in the other pictures. This whole stunt seems like a big F*** You to the VS people. I kind of can't get on board with the "she does it because she's insecure" theory, to me it's just another way for her to draw attention to herself.

I don't think so. She's obviously trying to build a brand around her name. These retouched pictures go directly against the brand image of being this healthy positive public figure. It's like catching someone who preaches about being a vegan caught eating a steak. Completely off brand.

I don't like that most news sites aren't showing all of the pictures she edited, just the VS backstage one. She will go away from this unscathed if she isn't held accountable for all of the edited pictures.

It may be publicity, but who cares! No one is going to be buying her sh*t if they think she's a hypocrite. Part of buying a celebrity branded product is because you like the celebrity and agree with what they're preaching. It's bad business.
