For its fall campaign, Missoni tapped Frederikke Sofie and Clément Chabernaud, who are seen standing with their feet in the water of two Northern Italian rivers, the Segrino and the Alserio.
Shot by emerging photographer Harley Weir, in her second collaboration with the Italian fashion house, the brand’s fall-winter 2016 campaign aims to convey a sensual feel where the human presence finds a balance with the natural environment. The color palette of the knitted pieces appearing in the images is designed to enhance this sense of harmony with nature.
The images are debuting this month.
missoni.comThe backdrop of the new Autumn Winter 2016 campaign forms a lacustrine setting that is reflected and split in half by the waters of the Segrino and Alserio Lakes. Transposed from the metropolis to a natural environment, from furnished spaces to the valleys of Lake Como, the tableau is romantic, almost imaginary.
Sensuality and natural elements arise from Angela Missoni’s vision for Autumn Winter 2016, where urban spirit and contemporary nonchalance meets pureness of the natural landscape. , Multicolored, blended textures are articulated through space-dyed and solid-colored bands in vertical stripes or zigzags, fringed appliques, lengthy tape scarves, cardigans, jackets and overcoats are coordinated with pullovers, as if under a spell. The campaign features a series of ‘portraits’ with standing and seated models languidly crouching over a structure of seemingly levitating chairs and stools.
The campaign is the second Missoni campaign from 27 year-old Londoner, Harley Weir, the star photographer famed for her debut online and her fashion collaborations. In Weir’s distinct style, portraits of the top model Frederikke Sofie and model Clément Chabernaud emanate sensually with character, whilst tying fashion to the uniqueness of the individual, transforming every shot into an iconic reflection of today – encapsulating and recording our moment in time.
