Miu Miu S/S 2012 : Mia Wasikowska by David Sims

I'm one of few who actually enjoyed this collection, and I think the ad campaigns are good in a very '80s way.

The color palette makes absolutely no sense, it couldn't be anymore random. The cheap jewelry and grotesque hairstyle are nothing less than overkill. No element can compliment a generic studio shoot like this except for simplicity which this is clearly not. This is by far one of Miu Miu's ugliest ad campaign's, and it's not even Mia's fault. The poor execution of the concept, terrible lighting and set, and the over the top styling cannot be forgiven.

I appreciate the tacky Lacroix styling and layout, but for now it's just too much in your face (but I'm sure I'll get used to it).

Now that's some 'full on' colour going on right there, but these are really gonna jump off the pages.
Also so much better than the first pics.

I'm enjoying the two new pics...the bold color is helping to elevate the subdued colors of the garments...and I see the LaCroix influences which makes it all the better...

^I knew it!

I quite like it...its very "cheap" in a good way. but also very rich and quite soft because of Mia´s expression

It's giving me an old-school Miu Miu vibe. Can't say that I like it. I don't hate it either. Need to see the whole set of this one I guess.

Is this really by Sims or M&M? Cause in the thread title, it says the latter.

It's similar to Resort ads with Guinevere shot by David Sims, so are we really sure it's by Mert & Marcus and not Sims?

It's definitely Sims. This campaign is listed with his work on ArtPartner.

I'm still not sure about it. On one hand it does look good and I love how Mia looks here, given I find her rather bland in real life. On the other hand however, I so wish they followed the witchy vibe from the show.

the seocnd one is great

i think i might get tired of this though the background is a bit of a strange choice

i hate it less now.
yes the 2nd one is the best shot thus far.

i must say however, that I have never been a fan of patchwork, i always thought that unless it's done right, it would look cheap. so that signature quilted bag in the last shot looks like someone tried to be 'cool' and copy miu miu :)
