The New Yorker issue with the Miuccia Prada interview is on newsstands now. I bought it yesterday. It is the March 15th issue.

    mime?...

funny...she doesn't do this because she loves it...it's because it's her family's business and she's obligated...if only my last name was prada.... :innocent: ... ;)

    Excellent, excellent interview.

    Thanks Lena :flower:

Somehow I suspect the launch and current execution of the Prada Sport line was one of the many confrontations she's had with Bertelli. If I were her I wouldn't be proud of the ubiquitous red stripe at all.

Oh, sorry - I only read the top post with the 'view from New Yorker...

I'm suspicous about her alledged study of computer games...to me it doesn't look like she's ever played one in her life...

And for all her alleged interest in the virtual reality, it's rather odd that Prada is the only major fashion label without a half decent website.

    But we've already discussed that...

    no problem your highness :p

i 'feel' her and i believe she's the kind of person that could easily escape into games and technology, i've done this myself ...people who know me cannot believe i'm spending so much time on technology, the web, working from my laptop etc. etc.

the most a designer dives in the web/tech culture the hardest it is to decide to
put up a site... talking of experience.
Miucia is quite clever to understand the language of communication,
im sure she's still looking at web designer's work auditioning for her site.
When it happens it may be something completly 'fresh'
Take example from her attitude in marketing her cosmetics.
She's an esthetic elitist, fascinated of the non-common.

she gained lots of (my) respect from the Observer artcile

Hmmm...I still hardly think that a little robot character encapsulates the entire complexity of Deus Ex...I just fail to see how virtual reality etc. have influenced her collection...

but.. just dont just her collection from what she put on show...
Bretelli is far to clever with copycats, he said already that Prada will
show just a part of the themes of the actual collection on show
in order to keep some 'exclusivity' until the real start of the season.

on the meantime, buyers sampled and given orders to the whole of
the fw04.05 collection.. i believe there is more to the eye than hits the catwalks

starting from ss04, i saw so many Prada themes that were absent from the show,
it was quite a pleasant shock ;)
