Model Casting F/W 16.17

Steve Harvey front row @ Prabal, now that's a great casting choice

i spy ine at tory burch! what is up with that? i miss her..why isnt she doing more shows right now
She only got to NY like yesterday. She was shooting with Testino, on location.

Nice cast at Tommy Hilfiger, good to see girls like Aya, Lineisy, Yasmin. It was a fun show, with the exception that Gigi opened and closed the show

^ i agree...hailey looked really good though. love her on the runway.

^ Felt the opposite, she looked pedestrian in comparison to most of the other girls imo. That sour expression and forced pout also doesn't help.

Julia Hafstrom looked divine though and she was right before her so maybe I was just underwhelmed after that. I think Kendall looks far better than Gigi for runway so I don't get why she's not there, at least her walk doesn't make her look drunk.

its so good to see diversity that doesnt look forced this season so far. it looks like there is thought and casing directors are picking girls just to fill a quota. its really beautiful

^ Totally agree with you Trevofashionisto, this season is the first season where it doesn't feel forced. I just hope this diversity continues on into Europe later in the fashion season.

Zac Posen always has good casts. Now i'm exciting for this!

I don't know why they cast Lexi in Tommy Hilfiger. I absolutely love her but she is so unsuited to the brand, just like last season..

I do think Zac Posen has diversity even before the initiative, but I feel like this is merely for attention.

^ Whether it's for attention or not, it's still nice to see diversity. Besides, Zac Posen has had diverse casts way before diversity even became this huge movement.

Diversity to me is a good mix of races. This wasn't a good mix if you ask me. That's why it felt really forced to me, as if he wanted to exclude white models like some designers exclude black models.

Though you can still applaud them for casting so many black models.

Karl Templer is obsessed with her and she walks all his shows.

Rag & Bone had a really good diverse cast, both guys and girls. Although I have to say that I was surprised to see Taylor Hill... (and no Julie Hoomans). Has Taylor ever been in a Brokaw-cast show before? I guess it's never too late.

Zac Posen as long as I can remember had always had a diverse cast, way before it was even a talk. It didn't seem forced to me for that reason. You can tell he was inspired by black powerful women by his mood board so he used mostly black women, and very few white models but it didn't feel forced because its not like he only casts a token black girl every season then one season has tons of black girls then the next back to the token ones like most designers. He is always diversed.
