As always, Armani had the best casting. It was great to see models that actually fit the mood of the collection and convey its message instead of the usual faces of the moment pushed everywhere.

This message broke my heart hahhaah. What I can't understand is why she went to Milan and didn't perform. Maybe for The Devil Wears Prada?
 
Again for YSL I assume. It was fun having her on that show at first, but now it's boring.
 
I think some of you are jumping to conclusions far too quickly. For example: “Ava flopped,” “X is missing,” “Y is skipping shows,” “Where is Z?”
But we have to remember that management plays a big role in modeling careers, and we don’t know what these girls might be going through in their personal lives.

I don’t want to make assumptions, but take Sasha Rajasalu as an example, she has been very open about being trans. What if she’s undergoing surgeries and had to take time off? Or what if she just started university and couldn’t commit to a full season? Or maybe her team is holding her back until Paris? Sasha is very loved in the industry, there is no possible way that she booked all those shows last season, and went to absolute zero this season. She is obviously not in town for a personal reason, that is not our business.

“Claire and Libby T. being MIA after being break out stars was an utter shock!”. But Libby dominated New York, and then suddenly did zero shows in Milan, that’s clearly a management choice. Maybe she had an important appointment back home in Australia she couldn’t miss, and she’ll be back in Paris? I don’t know.

Some models also need to work extremely hard to maintain “show shape,” and sometimes that means taking a season off to rest, spend time at home, and return the next season to be able to model long term. There are countless reasons why a model could skip Fashion Week. Someone could have lost a loved one (i hope not), started uni, health issues, family issues, simply taking a break after working full time for seasons… And here, I’m specifically talking about girls who aren’t walking a single show in a given city. So let’s not immediately label someone as “flopping” when we don’t know the reason they’re absent. Of course, if a model shows up here and there only in random, smaller shows, that’s a different situation.

Yes, in fact it's true. But in my opinion, this thread is meant to discuss castings and point out any absences — that's how it's always been. No one is intruding into the private lives of models with the intention of violating their privacy. Everyone has the right to express an opinion politely and respectfully (without offending anyone, of course), so if you're disappointed by the absence of Libby T. or Sascha, why not say so?
Many of us have thought about it — Libby’s absence in particular does seem odd. But from the profiles of her agency, I saw that she was shooting a campaign over two days, and it was actually during NYFW. Her absence might be due to a major project. Personally, I was disappointed not to see Vittoria, but I guess it's natural that once a model reaches that kind of status, she becomes extremely selective about the projects she takes on. She is no longer chasing prestige on the runway, nor does she need it from a financial point of view. Still, as a huge fan, a bit of disappointment is perfectly normal.
Ultimately, I think this is the thread for speculation — where we also try to guess which models will show up — and many of us (often just as hobbyists) judge a casting based on the vibe of the brand and the mood of the show. So it’s only natural that we notice certain absences — whether it's just for a single show or an entire fashion week (or even the whole fashion month, haha).
 
Sorry I love Sascha, my #3 current favorite so I don't see anything wrong with me voicing being disappointed that she is MIA. And look at a lot of models who skip seasons, they never recover. ie poor America Gonzales. Or Alaato. Both on yhe top of their game. Anerica skipped a season for a broken arm and Alaato skipped to get married and they barely book any shows anymore.

Though Libby T was in Shanghai during MFW so she was probably on a job. Based on an instagram story with the location of Shanghai.

Y'all need to shut up about Sascha, it's getting tiring. She is clearly either taking a break for her mental health or will walk in Paris as exclusive, either way this will not be the end of the world if she doesn't walk this season.

Yet another prime example of the up-and-coming gen of nepomodels being… completely inoffensive presences to see on the runway. Betsy Gaghan/Lennon Sorrenti/Kai Schreiber blend right in at every show they’ve been at these past few seasons.

Girl. I was today years old when I found out Betsy was a nepobaby!! Her mama is gorgeous.

Aren't we dragging the nepobaby concept a bit too far? Does a parent need to be a plumber to validate their offspring as a "real model"? Having a dad who was the Ambassador of Spain to the Philippines is certainly privilege, but does that specific connection automatically make someone a nepo? I think the label is losing all meaning.
