Model skin & body care tips / products

This thread is awesome! It's probably my most favorite thread on tFS. I love Cetaphil for washing my face in the mornings. At nights I usually prefer a different cleanser if I put on a fair amount of makeup that day though. I've been using MAC wipes, but they really aren't that great. This is coming from a MAC lover. I just bought a cleanser from The Body Shop, I think it's called Tea Tree Oil Foaming. (I bought it b/c I read that Holly Madison used it, & her skin is gorgeous.) I like it so far. It definitely removes my makeup much more nicely than Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

yeah, Creme de la Mer has Mineral oil in it hm..., I wonder why it works that well on celebrities, isn't mineral oil supposed to break you out?

Here is the list of ingredients:

I couldn't copy it directly :flower:

from what i know, mineral oil is supposedly non-comedogenic, so it shouldn't break you out. i think it's purpose is to sort of 'sit' on the skin to seal in other things- so it wouldn't be very moisturizing all by itself.

i have not found la mer to be anything special, as far as what it does for me or it's ingredients. but i slather Eucerin Original Cream all over my face every couple nights, which has a lot of mineral oil, and my skin looks great when i wake up. i guess if you're interested in La Mer, the eucerin could be a cheaper thing to try to make sure the mineral oil wouldn't bother you.

^ I also found Eucerin to be more effective than La Mer. I actually used Eucerin lotion though. I can't remember which one. I found La Mer to be too thick. I can't believe so many celebs use it. They can't all have skin that dry!

here comes the rain again ^_^

Thank you very much for the Twiggy scans!!

I adore this thread, so many great tips.

Thought I would bump this thread back.

From Gisele Bundchen's thread:
Gisele Bundchen steps over and under the security rope to get to the security check point where she unpacks her bags on Sunday [February 8] at LAX.
While unpacking her bags, the 28-year-old Brazilian supermodel ended up showing some of her favorite personal care products including Neutrogena skin care products.

Too bad this thread is updating not too often. Thanks for posting the latest news!

This is a great thread - it took me a couple of days to go through it all. I do have a question that I hope someone can answer and I don't really know where to ask it: I noticed that many models (and, of course, people in general) use an eye makeup remover separate from their cleanser, but is that really necessary if you use a gentle facial cleanser that removes all your eye makeup in the first place? I know you should be gentle around the "delicate eye area", but I haven't noticed any damage or dryness, etc. when using a regular cleanser. I find it somewhat unnecessary but then again...
Hope someone can help!

I think its just better because overall that area is more sensitive and therefore over a long period of time it will effect it.

Papyrus: A lot of people (and models) here use the Bioderma Sensibio / Crealine H20 Cleanser which is a makeup remover that can be used on eyes and face. My sis, who uses waterproof eye make up loves this cleanser... and I have to agree with songbirdsel that the eye area is very sensitive and very delicate...

I heard that alot of models use Lancome's Bi-Facial eye make up remover. I'm using it at the moment and its really good because it smoothes the eye area and is good for sensitive skin as well

Thanks songbirdsel, [vogue] and Mods MS17 for replying.
[vogue], I have used Crealine before a couple of times, it's great but I want to try something different. Right now I have been wanting to try Avène's eye makeup remover.
