This a constant struggle for Ford. Every few years, a booker(s) leave, models leave in droves and its board gets depleted. Ford then begins to build it up again and the cycle repeats itself.
There is definitely something not right going on at the agency. It's not just that their bookers and top girls leave regularly. The agency also seems to be on the outs with certain members of the fashion industry, i.e. Models.com, Switching Models blog, etc., who very clearly cover -- or don't cover--- Ford and its models in a certain manner.

Ford is shooting itself in the foot to be honest. I know from a very good source that Lexi's agent was actually fired from Ford. It's only common sense to think that the agents will tell their girls what Ford did and if the girls are loyal to their booker, of course they'll leave.

Lexi's agent was probably on the way to Heroes anyway, maybe that's why Ford fired him. But it's weird Lexi didn't follow him to Heroes, though it looks like Erin and Hailey did.
But to your point, a fish rots from the head down.

I read an article a few years back about the workings of the industry, and it was said that some agencies were more shady than others, and that others were more honest in their dealings. DNA, Wilhelmina and maybe Ford were I think the more honest ones.

I might be shooting myself right here, but could it be that Ford isn't playing into the whole game the industry at large seems to be playing, like maybe the ethics passed down from Eileen still has some bearings on their current management? IMG seems to strongarm a lot of sites just by the sheer weight of their company and you regularly see them covered everywhere.

^ I've wondered that too.. there must be something up.
It's bad but whenever I see a girl has signed with IMG, I'm like "oh, well done" but if she's signed to Ford then I'm like "wonder how long that'll last". :|

Lexi leaving must have really been sh*t for them.

IMG and Women reportedly have forced clients to book some of their new and unknown girls by packaging them with their top girls. I.e., book our new girls or else you don't get our top girls. That's why you will see some campaigns with multiple girls and they're all from IMG/Women.
IMG also will poach girls by not charging the girls the usual 20 percent commission that agencies charge the models, in addition to the 20 percent they charge the client.

If she was so close with her booker then why didn't she follow him?

Exactly... IMG poaches the girls that have already been established by other agencies. The other agencies do the work then when the model has faded IMG will take them and offer a commission deal... yawn.

It is interesting how Lexi didn't join Heroes. She was top girl at Ford so it would have been easy to become one of the top girls at Heroes but IMG is full of them. Perhaps she just didn't want to risk it by joining a new agency when IMG is so much more famous.

Lexi is good friends with Hanne Gaby so I wonder if HG didn't get into her ears and convince her to switch to IMG.

What is going on at Marilyn NY? They've signed a bunch of girls from other agencies...although the girls are mostly third and fourth tier girls.

Sorry, bit this is just usual business.
And not just in modeling.
Try to have a famous band to come at your music festival, and you will have them only if you accept to take also less famous new band from the same producer.

Really VERY usual business method in all entertainement field.

well if I remember correctly, the 'original' marilyn team went to 'the Society', and current team seems to want to build a more commercial/middle of the road agency (money bookings) instead top top top editorial girls that switch all the time.

So (I) don't expect lots from that team....
