Models Switching Agencies

I quite agree with most of what agee wrote and as she suggested herself, I'm going to add my own two cents:D Only on Women Direct girls going to Supreme now

Women Direct was meant to be Women's more commercial sister but turned out quickly to be a big mix, under the influence of a few agents that were there. The results was a board that included "edgy yet sustainable" models, pure high-end commercial girls and a few very edgy ones that for a reason or another weren't signed at Supreme or Women.

Those who are joining Supreme now (Ieva, Bregje and last minute additions Svieta and Lena A) weren't obviously the most commercial ones, some had a huge presence on catwalk or a nice editorial profile so in my opinion would totally fit for Supreme under former Ford's team and their vision if it remains similar to what they've been doing lately. Then most likely Women Direct will become now the full force commercial division and all will make more sense.

The next few weeks or months will probably tell more on how things are going to evolved but so far that's the most suitable analysis when you include agents and models moves in it. Now the good question is if the perception of Supreme will change dramatically after this evolution of the board or if the new team will keep some of the existing ingredients and adapt them to their vision and to the girls that are now on board.

I don't think it was posted or if anyone cares but Irina Vodolazova went from Women Direct -> Supreme.

According to models.com, Chanel has moved to Supreme; Rose and Alana to Ford.

if you check the Ford site, lots of profiles are empty, they just left the icons up

Marlena Szoka, Flavia (->Supreme, no?), Nika Lauraitis, etc.

Nika popped up somewhere else (different network), but was quickly removed so idk

I saw that too  Ford's new faces board is now only composed of 11 models :blink:The main board has only 32 models & the women's board has 98 models...and some of those girls are already with Supreme..and yes, some portfolios are indeed empty with only their polaroid or video working..Ford is indeed doing a website clean-up

Here's the simplified version:

Ford released all of their bookers/agents from their editorial "Women" board.
Paul Rowland and the booking team at Supreme moved to Ford because Paul, who sold Women/Supreme in 1998 and has been a salaried employee/director since, never got along with the financial backer/boss/owner.

And the Director of Women Milan has moved to New York to aid all of the boards during this transition. Models are moving around from Women, Women Direct and Supreme.

finnaly a analyse a biyt more serious^_^
all the mess is ONLY due to big moves in the "money backers".
Rowland move with some good support from people with good money, that will actually put Ford in a rather strong position in NY financially speaking, because their own turnover + the money backing that people Rowland brings will give to Ford a budget probably in the very strong in NY.

I had also heard that women Milan boss moved to NY, that obviously mean a quick need of cash injection to women/supreme, who probably lost some money backing with the departure of Rowland.
So, that dear Women Milan boss probably arrive with few suitcase full of "so clean" money, as probably women/supreme could not survive more than few weeks on their own if they lost too much of money backing.

I would still clearly put the medium term futur of women/supreme in question, as i dont see the women milan boss to put money there more than a few months, so supreme/women is clearly in need of some new "investor" in the coming months.

I saw that too :p and according to MDC, Iris is still with Supreme...interesting! Therefore:

Rose Cordero: Supreme NY -> Ford
Alana Zimmer: Supreme NY -> Ford

Johanna Kneppers-Corbal: Ford NY -> ?

...probably to Marilyn? Yuliana D. joined there recently & she's with WM Paris as well

Women/Supreme didn't lose their financial backer when Paul left.. Paul left BECAUSE of them, from what I understand.

Ford also has some girls who used to be with Women/Supreme under Paul's leadership, like Flavia, Fabiana and Juliana Imai who was with Ford then went to Women then back to Ford. It'll be interesting to see what they do.

And Women/Supreme has girls who were with Ford. Alla was there for like 2 months then went to Women Direct and now has been moved to Supreme. If she wasn't happy at Ford under Caroline's leadership, it's hard to believe she'll be happy at Supreme with Caroline there now. Vanessa de Assis and Dari and Katya S all lfeft Ford during the past year, so they could very well rejoin Ford to be with Paul and the former head booker at Women Direct.

A lot of things still unresolved and will probably remain so for a while. One big question is how long is Caroline slated to be at Supreme. Or is this a move by Supreme to keep it afloat in the short term b/c they knew Paul would take a slew of girls with him and getting Caroline gave Supreme a chance of getting some ex-Ford girls to fill in the space at least temporarily?

Ford was notorious for losing its girls to other agencies while Caroline was in charge, and that was a major problem for Ford. I don't see how that would change with her going to Supreme. If that continues, I don't see how she would be a long-term solution for Supreme.

i think woman milan/NY had +/- the same way to get money.
and i think that at least in part, there was some additional money backer supporting Supreme with Paul.
it is that part of money backing which if i well understood follow Paul to Ford, and i think that for while, the usualy Women money backer will need to put money in supreme to replace the missing cheques left to Ford with Paul.

The quick move of Dejan to NY tend to confirm that I think.

Good point :flower: The new Russian owner of Ford shouldn't have fired Mama Caroline & Paolo :( look what happened..oh well, Paul is a starmaker...I'm curious to see whom among of the Ford girls (new & old) will he push next season ;) exciting! :p

Svieta Nemkova: Women Direct -> Supreme NY
Lena Ashikhmina: Women Direct -> Supreme NY

What comes around, goes around...

Ford -> Supreme NY:

Alelxina Graham
Flavia Oliveira
Jelena
Johanne Friis
Lea Groesland
Marlena Szoka
Matta
Nika Lauraitis

So far, 15 girls left Ford & 14 girls left Supreme

whoa!

Wow, I had no idea this was going on at all. Should've checked here sooner!
It's kind of strange to think of Supreme without Paul Rowland and without some of those uber Supreme girls. Same goes for Ford. I don't know if these is gonna have a huge effect on the New York market, but Supreme most of all will have to rebrand quickly, cause their image doesn't quite add up with with the recent additions, let's face it. Exciting times!

Someone said on Marlena Szoka's thread that she's now with NYMM not Supreme ;) my bad :flower:

^ I'm wondering if she's actually still into modelling  I mean, it was mentioned somewhere here before that she quit - but then made a comeback in Sao Paulo.

^^ she had quit a long time ago but Supreme is notoriously bad about updating their website. I mean, Suvi and Meghan switched agencies and their portfolios were still up until a few days ago . I'm guessing she doesn't have representation in NY at the time and doesn't need it because she's only working in Brazil
