Can someone explain the whole Elite Paris situation? Because at first it seemed like all the Supreme girls were moving there ( Chanel and JJ)...but now it seems the Ford team is moving there ( Alana, Tao, Rosa, Ranya etc.). To my understanding those two teams ( Supreme and Ford) were not really seeing eye to eye. How are things going to work out now that all those girls have come together under one agency?

^Well, moves and changes are not over yet so might see a little evolution again and Chanel went from Viva to Elite before what happened to Ford/Supreme. As for Ford working with Elite, it's easy to understand why. Elite Paris is "rather independent" in the way they can work with many agencies from NY (or they could, or at least do not belong to the "clear" networks that are IMG, Next or Women). On another hand we already saw a few of the new Supreme girls going from Elite Milan to Women Milan for example.

As for Karmen and Anna J. It's not at all about "poaching". It's all a matter of mother agent and scout movements.

Elite is a powerhouse in Paris. they don't "need" all these Ford girls and i don't think it's purely positive (more mouths to feed etc), though some of them will obviously make nice additions.

anyway i guess there'll be a major bidding war for the girls rising through Elite Europe's own ranks. should you go with Elite NY, Ford, Marilyn, DNA, NYMM...? Elite Paris share girls with virtually all the NY agencies. it's been working fine as the individual mother agents have their own ties and connections, but it seems a bit trickier now that EP have reconciled with Elite NY as well as establishing a strong partnership with Nu-Ford.

also, Marilyn have grown incredibly strong and NYMM have proven to be a real contender. i'm not sure it's possible to stay partners (be it unofficial ones) with so many top agencies without conflict? things have truly changed compared to a few years ago when most EE girls would end up at One, with NYMM or whatever as second option. and who can forget the genius "E Mgmt" project.

Ford NY and Elite Paris have had an alliance for a few years now so not surprising that all the ex-Supreme girls who moved to Ford with PR are now with Elite Paris. You also will see that over the past few years, a lot of girls who participated in the Elite Model Look and signed with Elite Europe also signed with Ford NYC.
Elite NYC and Elite Paris were on the outs for a long time -- they had only the Elite name in common -- but allegedly the two offices are now working together again.
Whatever differences Ford NY and Ford Europe had seem not to be resolved since not a single of the ex-Supreme girls migrated to Ford Europe.

A couple of questions:
Who did Next poach? Can anyone recall both the models and their former agencies? The one that I recall is Karlie from Elite and I think it involved a six figure signing bonus (right?).

Next question, what is is about Paul Rowland that would make an up-and-coming model like Karmen switch? Of course he is a good agent, one of the best, but what models became actual stars under his leadership (as opposed to the flavor of the month), Iris is the only one that I can think of and she is more of a rising star. The one thing that I have seen him be very successful at is getting established models like Iris and Tao tons of runway work beyond their sophomore season, so on that basis I can see a model doing a city switch, namely moving to Ford NY, but I am not so sure about a worldwide switch and that also assumes that it was the model's non-New York agent who scored the campaigns.

If the Anja rumor turns out to be true, I can only see that making sense if they give her a big, fat signing bonus because presumably her resume, reputation and relationships will keep her name on the top of the lists of editors, casting directors and designers.

I wonder if Ford has given him a great big chunk of money and told him to go out and buy a bunch of girls to fill up their board.
