Models Who Were One-Hit Wonders

Givenchy openers
Kelsey Van Mook
Antonella Graef
Yuliana Dementyeva
Alyona Subbotina

Antonella opened givenchy twice, did ok on the runways for two seasons and that was it. She never got an A-list campaign nor cover to be considered a One-hit wonder.

And about Dafne, she got a MG givenchy campaign and did quite good in print work, she walked very few shows though. But she opened Hermes this season so let's just wait to see what happens

very busy during 2002~2003, then a busy comeback at fall 2008, and nothing else
girl why rushes?

Opening Givenchy is a hit though, so I qualify her as a one-hit wonder.

Very interesting thread.

I am thinking which designers/photographers "create" one-hit wonders the most. I'd like to say Prada/Steven Meisel, and maybe other brands which keep a few exclusives each seasons (i.e. Givenchy, Balenciaga, Calvin Klein etc.). They give newcomers a really high starting point but few of them can keep the hype and become big names, some of them even can't get decent work in the current season.

I'm adding Nyasha M to that list of one Hit wonders. Such a standout season for FW11 and then that was it. She booked a few runway spots for Fall 12/13 but No major eds or campaigns...

Honestly, i wouldn't add Nyasha by any means, maybe she's not at the same speed that she had in her standout season, but she hasn't fell from radar at all. She's still booking and doing some work...

I think maybe we can judge her after another 2 seasons, to see if she has completely fell off the radar.

yeah, definitely would not count nyasha out yet. i think she's one of those girls, that with good management, time, and patience, could really score some top-notch campaigns and develop a strong, steady career in the same lines as jourdan dunn. what she needs is a stronger loyalty base client (kind of like how US vogue/burberry is to jourdan...i was hoping someone like marc jacobs or british vogue would have been more loyal) that can give her the potential to be a bigger star.

plus, isn't she studying for her A-levels at the moment?

I think Kelly Mittendorf & Julian Gruner have a lot of potential. I hope I don't eat my words :D

If Kelly doesn't get at least one more big cover or a campaign pronto, she can definitely be considered a one hit wonder by now, which is so very sad! her rare coolness and exotic beauty is so necessary.

^I think that ship has sailed not long ago... I don't think everybody's enamored with Kelly again. She just doesn't have the longevity to do well in this industry. Too bad... Arizona Muse will soon fall into that category too, if she doesn't land some big - and I mean BIG - work that's gonna put her back on the map again.

I agree about Kelly, but I don't mind it at all. She was not really my type.
Also, most of the Prada models from that season seem to be doing bad. Antonia had two decent runway seasons, but that seems to be over now.
Dorte was all kinds of exclusive last season but didn't show up this season. Julia has never done runway.
Even Frida seems to have lost her glory (along with Jac).

Only Ondria has made it back this season and she now has a Chanel campaign coming up.

Oh and about Arizona, she has an EL contract. It will never be like before anymore but at least we'll see her face around like we saw Hilary's and Carolyn's face still.

i wouldnt put her in here only because she never really blew up, but she gets decent work. She has a fragrance ad for Spring 2013 and last year booked Theory and Costume National campaigns

May i say Fatima Siad? Up to date her latest biggest job is landed on the Herve Leger S/S 2012 ad campaign & no more after that :( I'm still hoping she can go back!

I wouldn't say Fatima S. really blew up, she had her time on ANTM and then we didn't see her for a while doing small runways and then the campaign didn't really help boost her career.

Kristina Salinovic

yeah, she definitely was one hit wonder..she had very successful start, she opened LV, had VI cover,Missoni campaign, appeared in Karl's video as only girl for Chanel, had a stellar runway season and did few eds for Vogue Italy and Vogue Paris and worked with great photographers like meisel,M&M,david sims,roversi..today she does here and there eds for vogue russia and vogue spain w/o any big work

I also wouldn't count Nyasha on here, because she put school and studying before modelling (good move on her part), I feel like she could easily make a comeback when shes done with school
