Molly Goddard F/W 2021.22 London

The end of term projects of a sewing class in a particularly remote and provincial town in Northern Wales.

I sorta like the grey dress with cobalt boots...

I just finished the show and wow, there is a lot to unpack. I loved the long, a-line coats and knit pieces. Really, really basic but the wearability is there. However, each time a promising piece came down the runway it was replaced by ANOTHER tulle dress! While being her signature, it is necessary to keep showing us your magnificent use of tulle over and over again!?!?! Also, if she is going to continue to try her hand at menswear, she may want to hire someone like Sébastien Meunier to handle the addition of feminine details. Laying smocking near the vent of a suit where it is barely noticeable seems contrived and forced. Lastly, there is a reason no one wears jeans under dresses anymore like the 2000s, Molly, please do not bring it back!

i like it. it's upbeat and diversified from the puffy dress look (but not divorced from it).
it draws on UK tradition with tweeds & plaids too.
