Monique Lhuillier is sticking to what she knows best, and that’s beautiful and dramatic eveningwear and cocktail numbers for resort, which is the start of the party season. Inspired by Fifties vintage couture, Lhuillier played with draping and fabric manipulation to create dramatic gowns. She also looked to the glamorous photos of Lillian Bassman, which translated into an array of one-shoulder columns — all red-carpet-worthy.

its somewhat generic but still very elegant

It looks like the juniors dresses at macys. Beautiful fabrics couldn't save this collection.

She has some beautiful designs, but this collection fails too impress me, too simple where is that wow factor

Nothing groundbreaking here, just some very nice dresses.

The long red dress together with the first white the dress are the only ones that caught my attention. I am a fan of Lhuillier's wedding gowns but this is only the first time I have seen her Resort collection.

The big white one with thin grid print is seriously awesome. :crush:

There's never any progression with her. You kinda just have to evaluate each dress on a pretty or not scale since there's not much thinking to it. And I would say "not" to all of the above.

Those dresses have at least all been done a million times each. Goddess dresses can only be so differently from each other.
I love the one with the thigh high slit though.

Not much in terms of design going on but some dresses are nice.
