After making her name designing wedding gowns for the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Monique Lhuillier is saying "I do" to a new fashion venture: shoes!
The bridal and ready-to-wear designer has been creating footwear for her shows for the past three years, but none of the styles have been produced for the public. That's all about to change come next spring, when Lhuillier launches a 15-style footwear range encompassing day, evening, and bridal looks, Women's Wear Daily reports.
"I’ve always wanted to dress women from head to toe," she tells WWD, adding that she wanted the shoes to be "sexy, feminine, and glamorous."
With a heavy showing of animal skins, lace, and intricate cut-outs, we'd venture to say "mission accomplished" ... though Lhuillier's work is far from over. Following her Spring 2013 capsule collection, she plans to launch a more expanded line for Fall 2013, with prices ranging from $595 to $1,195.
