Looks like Naomi needs help with anger
Naomi Campbell may have put down another assistant, according to ringside reports.
Has Naomi Campbell gone off again?
The hot-tempered supermodel allegedly has had yet another ugly blow-up with an assistant, we hear.
Tuesday afternoon, Campbell was in her Park Ave. pad getting ready for her appearance at the Learning Annex.
"It's been a [bleeped-up] day," Campbell is said to have complained as her hairstylist and makeup artist worked on her.
She'd just learned that one of her dearest friends, Mary Vinson, the wife of Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, had died. What's more, Campbell was supposed to have said that things weren't working out with the assistant she was trying out - a woman identified by someone close to Campbell as Amie Castaldo.
"Naomi said something critical about [Amie]," says a source. "[Amie] heard it and ran out of the room. She was crying and mumbling something about Naomi under her breath."
According to the source, the catwalk tigress and Castaldo entered into what we'll call a loud and physical confrontation.
Another source wasn't certain who did what to whom but said, "Something definitely happened in that apartment."
Castaldo couldn't be reached yesterday. But Campbell's spokesman said, "It became clear after a few days that Amie's performance on the job was not going to work out.
"Naomi ended the brief working relationship in a professional manner and wishes Amie the best in all her future ventures."
The spokesman also passed along a statement from Campbell's hairdresser Quentin Harding, who said: "I can tell you 100% nothing happened."
Campbell has had a stormy history with her help.
In August, police were called to her apartment after her maid, Millicent Burton, claimed the model had slapped her across the face. The officers who responded to the call accepted harassment cross-complaints from both women.
Naomi's former personal assistant Simone Craig accused the fashion diva of holding her hostage in a Los Angeles hotel in 2001, striking her on the arm and face, tossing her on a couch, and chucking a phone at her. The case is still pending.
Another ex-assistant, Georgina Galanis, sued Campbell for $8 million in 1998, saying the supermodel bashed her with a telephone while in Toronto and threatened to toss her from a car on a busy highway. Campbell pleaded guilty in Toronto Criminal Court and was ordered to attend anger-management classes. Galanis' suit was settled for an undisclosed amount.
Whatever happened on Tuesday, Campbell was able to make it to her Learning Annex gig - where she was asked why she was attracted to famous men. Replied Campbell, "I think famous men are attracted to me."
When people here that Naomi's last assistant quit or was fired, do they jump at the oppurtunity to work for her? I mean come on, she has a history of being pretty bitchy
