Nastasia Ohl: DNA -> Next NY
mariemaud.canalblogLong time no words on Nastasia Ohl, too long and enough silence. Were thinking of a new feature on her quite often, were waiting for the opportunity. It might be always like this, after all, always waiting for the right materials to pop up or even looking for them in a relentless quest. Hunting pictures, quite a beautiful way to spend weekends -- not to mention it does actually have some relaxing aspects as well, training your eye without working for real. Amazing, isn't it ? Not as much as when the most thrilling pictures of one of your current muse just pop up in your email box, without expecting it. One of these magical moments that change your plans for the whole day and make you glad to write a little more than usual on a Friday afternoon. Here we go, Nastasia by Elliot & Erick.
Last time we talked about Elliot & Erick's work might have been in a piece dedicated to another FDIB favorite, Kirby Kenny. It always makes thing incredibly easier when your favorite photographers work with yout favorite models, when who you think has the most outstanding modeling skills matches the vision of those you love the aesthetics. If you've ever had an opportunity to see Nastasia in person, you probably haven't forgotten the feeling -- long brown locks and graceful movements, even if it's just to put her jacket on the clothes tree of the agency. The description would fit for a couple more girls but we've rarely seen some who were really able to translate this vague concept into pictures, even among the most talented. That might be why we don't only love Nastasia's look but also respect her work the same way we would respect any other creative's.Now when we dedicate a post to both the models and the photographers involved in the pictures featured, we always try to "share the spotlights" between the two parties (it sounds almost grotesque said like that but it might be a bit of the dilemma nonetheless). In this story's case, no dilemma, though. Knowing by heart what Nastasia's signature is like and knowing Elliot & Erick for being this kind of photographers who will create something from who/what they capture, it wasn't hard to talk about a "perfect match".
