MY INTERVIEW WITH MODEL NANA ABRAMOVA
Nov 2016
At only 18 years old, Nastya a.k.a Nana Abramova is a fresh face in the fashion world. The Ukraine native has only been modeling for 2 years and has already made it as a regular on the runways of countless designers including Giambattista Valli, Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana. She has also been featured and interviewed by Vogue.com and was named one of Models.com's Top Newcomers for the SS16 season.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Nana and asking her a couple of questions about her fast paced career as a model and working in an industry that not many 18 year olds can say they're a part of.
How did you start modeling? Was it something you always wanted to do?
A model agency in Kiev found and contacted me through VK (Russia's Facebook) and asked about my height and proposed that I sign for them. I was like, "let's try!" I never though of being a model; I didn't even know it was possible. My mother agency is Ego Models, then I signed with other agencies in Paris, Milan, New York, Barcelona, London and Germany.
What has been your favorite job/project so far and why?
I would say I like to do fashion shows more than photo shooting, but both are still good. Giambattista Valli, Adam Selman, Dior and Dolce & Gabbana are my loves! My favorite photo shoot was for Glamour Spain, the whole team flew out to Canary Island for 3 days to shoot the story.
What is it like to be a part of Fashion Week, and the amazing D&G SS17 show?
I love when it's super busy during fashion week. It's great to be a part of it, and every show you do. And about D&G, words are nothing! It's such a special and wonderful show.
Has working in the industry changed or influenced your style?
Definitely yes. I've started mixing different styles in one look.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Maybe I'll go into the jewelry business. I don't know for sure, but for now I'm enjoying modeling.
