I just got this from the JC Report:
Next week the scorching hot Meatpacking district will see the addition of yet another boutique. B8 Couture, set to open at 27 Little West 12th Street, will continue to push a Euro aesthetic in the neighborhood where stores such as Destination, Dernier Cri, Henry Beguelin and indeed Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and Jeffrey have been doing just that over the last couple years. In addition to their ambient new concept, what differentiates B8 Couture is that their selection of brands is so Eurocentric, one usually finds them collectively displayed in stores only in Italy or France. Selling both womenswear and menswear lines including Andrew MacKenzie, Dirk Bikkembergs, J. Lindeberg, Julien McDonald, John Richmond, Les Hommes, and Marcel Marongiu, among others, proprietor Karine Bellil's innovative recipe will be bracing for downtown hipsters.

Thanks for the article!

Les Hommes, mmmm, yummy. And finally, someone will close the gap of Dirk Bikkimbergs main line.
So, what does "next week" mean exactly?

I just received the email today, so, the second (full) week of january. I'll pass by later today and see if I can wrangle an actual date, as I have a client I have to take shopping (this is the one who ordered that $5000 McQueen coat you like, faust!)

Ah, cool. So that's what you do? I considered that for a while...

Oh no, I'm not a personal shopper - this client and I just get along really well and we like shopping together. I'm an Art Director, mostly for fashion accounts.

I really like the JC Report as well. Sounds like a nice store, much like the other NYC stores I go into, browse, and don't buy anything from because it's too expensive.

Even cooler! Don't ask me what I do :( But, hey, I can afford designer clothes (on sale)

We passed Little West 12th Street yesterday looking for it but saw nothing - there's a space right in front of Destination that looks like it'll be the new store, but it was no way near finishing up construction. Might not open as early as planned... unless the space will be more deconstructed. There were some women above the barricaded storefront that kept saying something to us from afar as we looked on, but we couldn't understand them.

Meanwhile, speaking of fashion in the Meat packing district, Alexander McQueen has Resort/Spring in, and the most amazing raspberry/fuschia sweaters... I drool. I also drool for their CFO, who helped us out a bit, unaware as we were of his high position in the company. Man, he's the youngest, handsomest CFO I have ever seen (looks to be in his early thirties, a near-model gorgeous Argentinian)!

thanks for the info and the topic baklanyc...

Oh lord yes, it's quite sad. The women's stuff is not...very...enticing, and as for the Men's, well...they have a whole wall of John Richmond, but I know of no one who wears John Richmond nowadays...
