New York Times "T" Magazine Holiday 2008 : Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes get his 'n' hers Old Hollywood-style T Magazine covers in this Sunday's New York Times. And yeah, we'd like to know why Suri Cruise didn’t get her own, too. But then again, we want to know why Suri isn’t on every magazine cover.



However, Katie does give us plenty of adorable details on our favorite little fashion icon. For instance, after seeing Hairspray twice now, Suri thinks Tracy Turnblad is her friend and waves to her. And for Halloween, when Katie asked what Suri wanted to be, she responded with "Halloween.” And so Katie designed matching orange outfits for them both.


But perhaps our favorite Suri deet is...


Katie confirms previous reports that Suri has an entire apartment in their East Village building devoted to a gym. After being overwhelmed by the amount of attention Suri received at a Chelsea Piers gymnastics class, Tom decided to bring the gym to his little girl.


Enough Suri for one day? Let’s move on to Katie then.


In order to avoid all the crazy theories circulating about her, Tom, Scientology and whatever else is out there, Katie says she doesn't go online: “I would get too upset and overwhelmed if I read or looked at what's out there.


"There’s a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn't have any control of her life," she continues. "And that's pretty wrong. From the very beginning, I've made choices in my life that have been very strong."


A few more adorable details revealed: Katie lists she had 30 Barbies, three Skippers, two Kens and one Midge doll growing up.


As for Tom, his interview was all business (rather than about Suri and Barbies), so we'll just show you the cover.

Faith, you know me too well

Ok. I'm just going to lay it on the line. I like Tom Cruise. It's not "cool" to say that given his antic but I like him. I know he's probably out of his mind but I enjoy him as a film star most of the time and feel he's quite attractive, particularly in his younger days. These pictures are really wonderful - so much better than his Details shoot. Very elegant work from Solve, I think these pictures remind me a great deal of the old Hollywood portraits from the studio days. Very elegant, very controlled and yet evocative. The pictures understand something that perhaps Mr. Cruise has forgotten - the most important component of celebrity is a highly controlled image.

He should look like this all the time quite frankly.

Tiiu, I love her and this is great for her. But it looks too similar to the Another Magazine ed and other numéro ed I can't recall.

Stuning pics of Katie love the hair...it almost make me ansious to see the Miu Miu ads.
