I have to say... one thing that consistently frustrates me with some Australian designers are their inability to have just the one theme for a collection.

These pieces just don't seem to link to me.... is it just me?

*swoon

this isnt my favourtie Finetti collection but its such an improvement on most of the shows ive seen this week (for exmple zimmerman :ninja:).

I totally agree loz, it seems to be that they are

a) like having a theme with fabric/ colour schemes rather than style/ cut

b) our designers arnt so much expected to bring out a 'themed' collection here as they are, in say NYC with designers such as Calvin Klein who cater to a clientele that expect to mix and match seperates where as australian desginers tend to be more 'quirky' where one wouldnt wear top to toe nicola for example in just everyday life and so people buy one statement piece for an outfit.

once again thanks so much loz for taking the time to post all these pics!

sorry double post but - one observation has to be made..... this fabric looks a little too much like stella McCartney for Target to pay $800ish for it in comparison to $80 for the Stella dress:innocent:.... but i guess thats the aim for the designers for chainstores collections - you can get the look for a cheaper price, unfortunalty it kind of cheapens this dress which would have been beautiful, and the fabric would have been bought before the SM for target range was even being close to released ... poor guy

I am sorry, but this looks bad in my eyes. There's nothing interesting and the whole collection looks anemic.

It's all too pretty. Looks like something out of a sl*tty fairytale.

It was a gorgeous show loved so much of it and it's fantastic to see that Nicola's taken his designs to a new level but keeping with what made his brand popular. - I was there and was actually observing the Aus Vogue team and Aus Harpers team sitting opposite each other. hehe

Harpers is so much more stylish i think :ninja:

There are some really nice outfits in there (a few others remind me too much of some of the pieces from the Stella McCartney for Target range). There's video of the show up here.

^^^^ wow, it's funny you say that because all of these pieces remind me of other collections, like some pieces make me think bottega Venetta, proenza schouler, prada, and those yellow shoes bring up victor&rolf for me.....weird
