Nina Ricci F/W 09.10 Paris

Finally, Theyskens adds some BACKBONE to his fairy-like creations and it works, though not for every look. The Mugler/Montana influences are really good for him, giving strength, structure and shape to his previous amorphous, ethereal, watery and "trail-ly" collections for Ninna Ricci. It works particularly well in THAT black dress, where the long and short lengths of the skirt flounce and whirl around in a couture-worthy spiral.

I even love the shoes, the platform glittery ones, though the ones with the truncated stilhettoes are stupid rather than "surrealist".

Pity he's leaving, as he is showing some maturity in his work finally.

I love surrealist but we can do somthing that doesn't look like we Mugler.
it's too 80's
this is 2009!!
I agree wiht Anna Wintour about the trend of 80's
I don't know why designer goes to 80's too much!!
it's gone bad I believe in creativity that why I still adore designer who invent!!like Olivier
but this collection is not my type!!

I really miss when the time he work with Rochas

But it's gone with the wind!!

one of the dress or the hat, reminds me with aeon flux costume in the movie

Hmm...this collection is turning out to be an extremely perplexing one. In the course of a day, I've become so confused about this show!

I don't mean that I'm warming up to this collection...I still dislike most looks, and I'm disappointed that Theyskens joined the 80's craze this season, but I'm feeling a growing sense of intrigue. I'm also wondering how much of an impact those hideous shoes are making on my impression of the collection.

I'm going to need a few more days, at least, to figure out what this all means.:ermm:

I don't know why people keep calling should pads the Balmain should pads...Decarnin didn't invent shoulder pads!!!

I don't think the collection is bad...I like it!

Amazing! :woot:

I like pretty much everything Theyskens does, regardless of which era(s) he happens to be referencing, or mood he happens to be in and this is no exception.

Nobody should attempt to walk in those shes, IRL, though. ;)

I have a feeling that sketches are much better than the real clothes...
This is really... crazy. This whole season is in crazy 80's mood...
I had naver thought of Olivier designing something like this (I still can't believe he used so much glitter:sick:)
Olivier's girls were someone who was like mist, fog, air, the sky... now they are in a nightclub pretending that they are still romantic...
this is sad:cry:
