Novak by McQueen

does anyone know where I can buy the small one in all leather (not the woven one) in cognac/honey brown online? I tried all known salepoints, like net-a-porter, but they only seem to have the black and olive ones

misslima - you might try luisaviaroma.com. last i checked they had the small in black, white, and red available for purchase...they may have added the small brown on there. they do have the regular size brown up for sale.

I know Taitai talked like crazy about the Novak croc. in the beginning, did she end up getting one?

No. Up close the croc Novak is NOTHING like the Hermes croc quality. My croc birkin's scales are MUCH nicer.

Hi Misslima, you can try calling 10 Corso Como in Milan. If Alex still works there, he is wonderful! :flower:

So...the bag obsession has captured me now! About a year ago fashion hit me, especially handbags have been the source of my dreams ever since. After I bought myself a Chloé paddington as a birthday present and a Prada frame bag as a christmas present Alexander McQueens masterpiece is finally coming my way. On June 15 I will turn 20, and I will find out if I passed my final exams...my mom has just bought me the camel/tan woven mini Novak at net-a-porter, since she believes passing the exams will be no problem (and boy, am I motivated now!). So, I will keep you all up to date on the woven Novak, and I will post a picture asap (wich will probably be in june-sorry).

So, here's a picture my friend took at harrod's. This stand just made me go crazy!

Yes, they're great! I'm getting the woven mini one in camel, like the cream one in the picture, but slightly darker. I figured the leather on the smooth ones will easlily scratch (like my frame prada), and the white/cream will get dirty. So the camel is the best option, though I like the smooth ones better and the cream probably matches my cream chloe prince shoes...but hey, at least I'm getting a Novak!

Thanks for the pic GGA. Is the leather part of the woven/leather combo the same as the leather of the all-leather combo? Because my problem with that leather is it is so scratchy. I got sent a red one and when I opened the box, the bag already had scratches so I ended up not getting the bag.

I wonder if they are using a diferent leather now.

Yes, I think the smooth leather on the woven one is the same as on the regular ones. I recieved mine today, and my mom was nice enough to let me see it for about 5 minutes. It is fantastic, but I do think it will scratch. But hey, that will just add to the vintage feel of the bag!

Ow, just to check, I got my bag today as I've just told you all, but there doesn't seem to be a tag or alexander mcqueen card or anything (like there is with chloé bags and Prada-they have care cards and some credit-card like thing). My bag came plain, with just a small (1x2,5 cm) card in the interior zip pocket with a serial number on it and a dustbag. Is this normal? I had expected at least a tag or something. Of course it is authentic, since it was bought at NAP and there simply are no copies, but it's still rather odd. And just one other thing: I thought the lock-thing was inscribed with the Q and c, but there is no inscription. Is this normal?

Mine was sent from the McQueen boutique and there were no tags, just a WHITE card in the zip pocket. The dustbag was dark brown with the McQueen logo in Orange. I dont think the clasp had any incriptions. The part that had the scratch was near the clasp, I think when you open the bag, you will inevitably scratch that area.

NAP was the first online retailer to sell the bags so you dont have to worry about authenticity.

Thanks Taitai, I feel very relieved now! I can't wait to carry this bag! When I finally get it in june, I will carry it 24/7 for the next 20 years

I have recently looked at quite a few of these on display at Liberty and Harvey Nicks in London ( all different colours inc. the woven ones) and ALL of them without exception had scratch marks around the area of the barrel clasp. The only one where it was less noticeable was on the black ones just because of the darker colour. I still really want one but it is something to note - It may also mean that the bag does not stand up to wear and tear as well as others which I suppose could limit its usefulness as an everyday bag.

You're right there Katy, the scratches are very annoying. But I have a patent leather prada bag with scratches, that can come off when rubbed with some sort of apple stuff someone mentioned in this forum. Mine had a pretty nasty scratch, and I just used something I bought at my regular shoe repair guy. Just try things that make your shoes shine, and the scratches will fade or dissapear. The Novak is worth it
