Thanks so much! I will be sure to post pics and my review, hopefully on monday evening, when I arrive back at my apartment.

Now I just need a perfect matching shoe, according to that article in wwd I posted Anyone know of a beautiful round toe or peep toe red pump? Is McQueen making one? I felt like everything on the runway was kim novak-esque bone all the way, but then I saw the gold and leopard ones on NAP and I started to wonder about it... maybe I should post a shoe thread over there?

Also, I forgot to say that NAP's special orders lady, Lucie, was very polite, and seemed to answer special orders email every weekday at around midmorning for me, which I suppose would be midafternoon for her since NAP is in London.

I completely understand about the car price tag... but hell it's less than that croc kelly I've been dreaming about owning someday

I think someday I'd like to own the croc, and since all signs point to mcqueen making this a signature bag that will reappear for many seasons down the road, for now I'll just sit back and wait for a black or rougue hermes-ish color to come out B) After all, a great croc bag will always be in style.

Thank God for Hermes' prices, they enable us to justify nearly anything else I guess I prolly will spring for croc ... one of these days ... my dream would be to find something vintage that I like more than anything new for much less money

I think the brown is gorgeous, although that said, If there were no red, or equally appealing classic but vibrant color (like perhaps the green if it's a nice shade...), I almost definately would not have bought it. To me, without either the croc or the color, the bag is not as much of a standout.

I don't know if that helps your decision at all, but I hope the right bag finds it's way to you

la_mie congrats! I've decided to pass up my pre-ordered for the time being. Would you be able to confirm if the actual bag at the top area next to the zipper on both sides are bending. From NAP picture it looks like it is but it could be the lighting.

klow-chloe, I'll be happy to check it out when it gets here. I see what your saying, but I haven't noticed it on any other pictures so perhaps they overstuffed it or it's just the light or a little bit of both. Perhaps fashionistas have been spoiled a bit with slouchy bags that can really be stuffed to the brim.

And I'm sorry, but that Tod's bag is hideous

I totally agree - the bag works better in more unique colors or leathers!

After a lot of thought, I've decided to pass up the chocolate brown novak that I had pre-ordered from NAP. I really want the croc version in small, so I'm just going to count on the Novak being popular enough for next F/W.

Me too. Another great bag expert on TFS said something really helpful "A croc bag must be a FOREVER bag." So I'll have to wait longer for my dream croc.

On a happy note, I am getting the red leather Novak from Milan in a few weeks.

I think it's wise to hold out on the croc, taitai I do think it has the potential to be a forever bag (at least for me), but if it gains lasting status it should be no problem getting it down the road, and if it doesn't, you won't be kicking yourself. I think it just might be in for the long haul though, can't you just see a croc nestled next to kim here?

Oh yes! That space in between the two ladies NEEDS a croc Novak!!
I will get the red novak the week after next. I am sure are as excited as I am!!!

And yes the croc Novak definitely has the potential to be a LOOONG time forever bag. I saw an article where McQueen committed to growing his accessories line SIGNIFICANTLY over the next few years and the growth will come from his accessories line. He's banking A LOT on the Novak so that's a great sign! I will look for that article and post it here!

Well, my bag is sitting here next to me...

I really think I might return it. The bag arrive with *very* noticable marks from having been stored with the handles pressing against the body of the bag, there are two small niks in the front of the bag, and the leather on the top of the bag on the back side is all uneven and bumpy. Plus, there is a small discoloration the back handle near the hardware.

I admit this is my first time spending quite this much on a bag, but for almost $1300, shouldn't it be perfect? I have looked over my moms bags very closely and never noticed even the smallest of imperfections. And even if it weren't for the things I've pointed out... I dunno, it just seems like something that ought to have cost no more than half what it did.

Ugh... the more I look at it, the more imperfections I notice. The only things that seem "perfect" about it are the stitching and the design. I admit that it still looks pretty nice on me, but I don't think that's enough to justify keeping it. I'll take pictures later when my mom arrives with my camera, and see what she has to say.

la_mie sorry to hear that but I think you should return it. NAP will receive more of these bag in both colors so if you still want the bag just let them know you want the perfect one and return this one.

i think these bags look better in bolder colors as opposed to neutrals. just my opinion.

I do order a lot of designer stuffs including bags from NAP and I never once find a problem with my bags or other stuffs.
