Nude / Pale Lips

There's a Mac Pro store in NYC. You can order thro the standalone stores near you as well.

I've tried foundation on my lips...it was really nasty. I don't recommend it. It feels weird and dry on the lips. I think Nars Belle de Jour lipstick is the most universal 'nude' color there is.

What should I use to have these pink lips? Thanks :)

Please do not quote images

this looks exactly like what I want, but I naturally have deep pink/reddish lips.

^I just received a pink pale lipstick from Lancome, it looks very nice- the color is called: Pale Lip. It looks like the picture

I usually smudge on a bit of YSL touche éclat, following the contour of the lips, and that does the trick.

my lips are naturally pink, sometimes they even look reddish without applying anything on. and sometimes, i just want to put on some pink lipstick but it looks odd because it's pink on pink, you know? the color looks different. so i was wondering if anyone knew about a primer for lipstick and lipgloss, or a foundation, almost. i don't want to use real foundation on my lips. i don't even use that on my skin... it's yucky and clogs pores. :judge: so i was wondering if there's a lipstick or chapstick that kinda' does the trick.

i hope i am asking this in the right thread!

^ MAC makes a product called 'Lip Erase' that is designed to neutralize the color of your lips to give a truer color to whatever's applied after. since it's made for the lips it's not supposed to be cakey or drying like foundation could be. the only downside is that it's MAC Pro, so you'd have to order it or go to a Pro store. the reviews on Makeup Alley are pretty good. :flower:

^ you're a life saver!

would you happen to know the price range for it, though?

^ i think i read that it's around $16.00, but also that the pot of product is pretty big. i'd like to try this sometime... maybe when i finally place my first MAC Pro order. :p

oh, here's a review.

also, i finally ordered MAC Fleshpot (got around the issue of it being a Pro item because it's part of the Heatherette collection!), which is supposed to be not unlike concealer for lips... a super opaque nude that blots out any pink. i have heard of people using this in a similar way to the Lip Erase, but i would think that it could mix with whatever you put over it. so i think for what you'd use it for, the Lip Erase is a better bet. i'm sure the Lip Erase is designed to stay underneath your other lipstick and not mingle.

i hope that helps a bit! :flower:

^ i watched a few youtube videos about the lip erase, and yes, it sticks to your lips and is meant to not blend in with your lipstick or glass/gloss/gelee, so it probably is the better bet. thank you so much for your help!

hey no problem! let us know what you think if you try it. ^_^

Shu Uemura has the PERFECT nude lipcolour. I use it when I go out, it's insanely hot on a man at night. So unexpected but not obvious, v v subtle.

^ I know the one you're talking about miss thing, i think it got discontinued, i had one a long time ago it was tdf.

back to black: i dont think she's wearing anything on her lips but lipbalm :ninja:

i have been wearing velvet teddy for a long time now and i love it.

^I know that you have to be a 'pro' to order online from the specific website - but I believe you can buy pro items from some stand-alone stores  I know there's one near me which has them :flower:

macpro? why have I never heard of this?! Is it completley different products or just new colors? I wonder why they wouldnt make better products availible to the public.

Back to topic tho, I was never a fan of this look. It looks too "try hard" to be in most cases, I like a more natural look. I just leaves my lips bare and do my eyes usually.
