Numéro #226 November 2021 : Adit Priscilla by Txema Yeste & Shanelle Nyasiase by Dan Beleiu | the Fashion Spot

Numéro #226 November 2021 : Adit Priscilla by Txema Yeste & Shanelle Nyasiase by Dan Beleiu

Thi girl just doesn't work for me. It looks awkward.

Terribly unflattering lighting. They made her look strange and flat.

It's a beautiful portrait, but that lighting unshines the whole cover.

By no means an easy cover. Tough to like. Unclear what they are going for: rather than helping, "Magnétique" adds to the confusion, more than anything. Yet, there is an innocence, a serenity about it, that I love. Adit by Yeste should not be this hard to read, but at a purely emotional level, this cover works.

Also, it hurts to see Alber's name. It is going to hurt forever.

Love at first sight for me, I think it's wonderful.. one of the few good covers Numéro has produced in the past decade easily and the kind that I'm sure looks better physically. The lighting also works for me, it's kind of calming to look at it.

Not the finest from Txema....

Adit deserved better, but Shanelle is a serve. She looks stunning in that YSL!

I like the otherworldly gold sheen of the first cover but the girl's expression is too ambivalent. The second one is much stronger in terms of photography but also of body and facial language, it even makes me warm up to that basic a** Saint Laurent outfit...

The second cover feels a little derivative, as it borrows heavily from the ad campaign: that wasteland atmosphere, only with better weather. Not that I'm complaining: YSL photographs beautifully in a raw environment. But the cover belongs to Shanelle, hands down. She was the one who could make it or break it. And oh boy did she make it or what. Absolutely stunning.

Shanelle's body language is spoken by a small percentage of the models only. A ridiculously small one. She is freedom and control all at once.

On a completely opposite note, "Le temps de l'innocence" is one of the most awkward things I have ever seen. I cannot even begin to fathom the idea behind it, and it is fine, as I am actually afraid to find out.
