Another tragic loss
I remember a bright canary yellow coat of his , hanging in BROWNS of South Molton Street , London , in the early 80s.
Did he not design the Louis Vuitton Graffiti bag ?
A loss indeed .
Yup. 2001,I think.
And these designers out now like Zaldy and Heatherette hold no candle to what Stephen was doing in the 80's.
i just saw him at the deisel show after party last season...so, like, about 6months ago...i was standing right next to him...i'm in shock... i've spoken to him...he's the quietest, nicest guy...wow... i think the eighties art scene is now officially dead ...he was the last one left from it...
i'm sorry...but this SUCKS!!!!
WHAT? he wasnt that old.. how sad
OMG! This is such tragic news. So sad....
What gets me,yet again,is that everybody seems to be dying;and not just once in a while but it seems like every week someone from fashion has passed. Amy last week...Stephen this week..its really sad that all our revolutionaries are gone. Especially stateside.
this bums me out. i would never have guessed he was 50 in a million years..he looks like my pro skater friend matty ryan. that graffiti bag he did for lv was the only cool thing i've seen from them in a while
he had still so many things to give, a true original
he only recently had a collaboration with Diesel, it comes as a real big sad shock to me...

my favorite stephen sprouse piece...cher wore it on david letterman in 1987 and wound up singing 'i got you babe' with sonny ...i wish i had a better picure of this jacket...this is he definitive sprouse piece ..in my mind... anyone want to sell it to me....
thanks for the great pictures lena...
so it was lung cancer...eeew...i've gotta quit smoking...
He'll be missed.
his death is tragic, there is no doubt....and those graffiti bags he did for vuitton are no longer just fab fashion finds, they're authentic collector's items now.
I'am really really truelys hocked, i cryed. Honestly I have always admired him alot. I always thought I would meet him for some reason, its really bazar and sad to me.
that's terribly sad
omy another sad news on my sat morning .. the one he did for LV surely was the breakthrough of other LV's design afterwards..im sure now his lv graffiti bags would b a sought-after collector piece
That's sad. Lung cancer? Boy, those cigarettes are a killer. I believe he was a smoker.
