Yelena is a photographer and a director as well. Her work has been in V and Dazed & Confused on occasion. She also directed the Smashing Pumpkins video for "Zero" and dated Billy Corgan for awhile.

She was born in Ukraine and moved to NY, I think she's still based there.

i think we are going to have this 'overlap' thiing come up quite often...
ithink the best way to handle it is to use links to threads in other forums.aka sections...

we can still have a thread on the photographer and link back to this one and vice versa...hope that makes sense...i think it's the best way to handle it....

those pics you posted are fantastic stilista...why isn't this woman a major star??...
i wish i could work with someone like her...look how beautiful th epictures are...and how beautiful the clothes look...it all works together...

that's a great 'fashion' photograph in my mind...

fyi-urban...michelle hicks is/was a model primarily...i worked with her quite a bit in the 90's..she did major stuff...vogue, W etc...before she began trying to break into acting...she and shalom harlow are on about the same career path...modelling during the same period and starting to try acting around the same time...

You are so right Softgrey - it's quite rare thing to find a photographer who knows how to make the clothes work...so many of them don't think about the clothes , but she makes them a feature.

Yeah,Michele did that film "Twin Falls Idaho" which I thought was really good.

Yelena Yemchuck....heard her name before but not familiar with her work. I like the images from NYT and the ones stilista posted.
