off- and off-off-broadway suggestions

i live in the city but NEVER get to shows can somebody give me some recommendations for off-bway or off-off-bway shows? preferably something hilarious (a farce, perhaps).

Off Broadway is usually quite quiet this time of year because Broadway is in full flourish. MCC Theater is worth keeping an eye on they have some good stuff with good names and next month Carey Mulligan stars in Through A Glass Darkly, though that is most definitely not a farce it is a chance to see a great actress in an intimate atmosphere. I would think about doing a rush or lottery with Broadway shows too there's some brilliant stuff out there at the moment, plays and musicals with some incredible casts.
