Albemarle teen models in European Fashion Weeks

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- Seventeen years old, 5-foot-11 and fierce, Olivia Jones is taking over runways in Europe.
She strut her stuff on the biggest runways, walking for fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, and London. She booked 14 shows for world-renowned designers like Givenchy, JW Anderson, and Calvin Klein.
"I did six shows in London, five in Milan, and three in Paris," said Olivia. "It was very hectic and I was surprised by how crazy it was."
She wasn't alone with all the craziness. Her mom was right by her side. She left St. Anne's-Belfield School and together they took on Europe.
"She rolled with it great! She did better than me, I had a couple meltdowns," commented Olivia's mother, Lisa Jones. "It's just really intense, 12 to 14 appointments a day, very late fittings and very early call times."
"I value my routine a lot more now because when you don't have one and are getting no sleep, it takes a toll on you," said Olivia. "I just came home and slept for three days."
Rewind two years ago, Olivia was 15, picking strawberries when she was discovered at Chiles Orchard in Crozet.
"I was just with my older sister when Julia, my agent, came up to me and asked if I had ever thought about modeling," said Olivia.
She signed with IMG Agency and the rest is history, but Olivia admits it hasn't been without its challenges.
"It was definitely harder for me than I thought it was going to be," she said. "It's just a lot of concepts to it, how they carry their shoulders and their arms, how many steps you take. It didn't come naturally to me. I started very slow, I didn't know what to do and I didn't feel very confident."
Now, she's mastered a walk that would give Tyra Banks a run for her money. After her month in Europe, Olivia is back home and back to a normal routine, focusing on finishing online classes.
"I had never been gone that long," she said. "It's just so nice to be back in my house, in my town and with my friends."
Olivia will continue to rock the runway and follow her dream saying as long as they're calling, she will pursue it.
Even though she turns 18 next year, Olivia will continue to live with her family in Earlysville, not making the move to a big city yet. Through fashion week, she's gained more confidence and learned how to function on two hours of sleep.
