Olivia Palermo

Johannes's photos are really quite good. I love Olivia's accessories, and her dog is adorable.

^IKR? Lots of the good bloggers have BFs who take excellent photos, so I think Olivia should let Johannes do all the photography from now on :D

"Hello!

The holiday season is upon us and has me thinking about this year. Although the site has only been active for a few months, planning started way back in January. From editorial meetings at my apartment to working lunches with the staff at my favorite places in the city, this time means a lot to me, because finally I get to write my first Christmas Editor’s letter. I hope those of you, who visit the city take advantage of the Holiday Spirit all over New York and stop by my cherished places including walking down Fifth Avenue and peering into the beautifully decorated windows of the shops – at least that’s still free – and maybe even end up skating under the highline at the Standard Hotel.

However, it’s not all about the holidays as I was in London for the British Fashion Awards. I love London and I love fashion so it was such a wonderful honor to be asked to present an award to Mary Katrantzou for emerging designer in the category ‘ready to wear’. The ceremony was incredible and chatting with some of my favorite designers and friends such as Erdem and Matthew Williamson was truly special. But the biggest treat was seeing Victoria Beckham who won for Designer Brand of the year. It’s no secret that Mrs. Beckham’s fashion sense is well respected as well as her business acumen. She turned her role as style icon into style arbiter. With her line’s recent award, we look forward to seeing more to come with in the New Year along with her secondary dress line Victoria.

The holidays also bring out the best in culture this year: the opening of the Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum, shows at the Guggenheim Museum of Maurizio Cattelan and The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor at Christie’s. I recently had the privilege to see two of this year’s much sought-after films: the long anticipated arrival of Madonna’s W.E, which tells the tale of Prince Edward and Wallis Simmons, and Iron Lady in which Meryl Streep impeccably portrays Margaret Thatcher.

We hope that you are enjoying our coverage of the arts on the site and expect to see much more in the New Year. Thank you all for your continued support and I hope you will join me in giving back this season – my favorite charities include New Yorkers for Children and World Wild Life Fund (WWF).

Looking forward to seeing all of you in 2012, Happy Christmaka!"

1. She needs an editor. Stat.

2. I like the suede pumps she's wearing in the pictures that Johannes took.

^ Is it supposed to be like Chrismukkah?
- The Christian/Jewish hybrid holiday from the OC? I know people who have genuinely used this word....

People use the work all the time, but it's never been called Christmaka I don't think! But this is kind of OT...

Did she seriously just make an OC reference? She's aware it's 2011 right?

Err... it's an actual event that people with Jewish/Christian heritage celebrate. It doesn't really become dated. The OC just popularized the term. I have friend who celebrated it when I was in elementary school. Kind of like Festivus/Seinfeld.
