A list of the new-comers, this spring, that are causing all the buzz.

From Style.com
1.Alistair Carr (Gen Art)
What do you get when you cross wet T-shirts with Spanish matador embroidery? Just one example of Alistair Carr's work, that's what. A recent graduate of London's renowned Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Carr is building a career based on his ability to channel diverse inspirations (motocross and ruffles, for instance) into innovative, focused collections.

2.Annelore (Gen Art)
Brazilian-born Juliana Cho worked for Catherine Malandrino before leaving to sell her pretty, feminine clothes from her tiny West Village boutique Annelore last year. Now she's taking her collection to the runway for the first time, with a little help from Gen Art and L'Oréal Fèria.

3.Charles Alexander
With stints at Geoffrey Beene, Yves Saint Laurent, and Christian Lacroix, Charles Alexander’s resume reads like a fashion who's who. He's been designing privately for Bergdorf Goodman clients for a while, but now he's ready for a close-up.

4.Derek Lam
A Parson's graduate with 12 years of experience at Michael Kors, Lam is presenting a Spring collection that is one part Marilyn Monroe sizzle, one part In the Mood for Love restraint. Look for Italian-sewn coats with contrast linings and tailored dresses in bold florals.

5.Gayle met Glenn (Gen Art)
Khary Septh has wasted no time. At 25, he's already studied fashion's creative side (at Cornell and Central Saint Martins) and worked its business angle (as a merchandiser at Barneys New York). The aesthetic behind his Gayle met Glenn label? “Color = fun.”

6.Lars Andersson (Gen Art)
Swedish-born Lars Andersson is inspired by his native countryside, and his idea of a good time is spending hours alone at the knitting machine. Throw in a dollop of goth glam and the results are delicate, intricately stitched pieces with a definite edge.

(Ones to Watch... cont'd)
7.Lauren Felton (Gen Art)
Lauren Felton spent five years working with Maria Cornejo and looks at fabric with what she calls “a sculptor's eye.” Her own line features asymmetrical jersey pieces that drape, fold, and extend via a marvelous geometry of seams and gathers.

8.Patrick Robinson for Perry Ellis
He's back! All bets are on Patrick Robinson (a veteran of Giorgio Armani, Anne Klein, and his own collection) as the man to revive the troubled Perry Ellis women's line. Look for pared-down American classics with more than a dash of sophisticated elegance.

9.Roland Mouret
Joining New York's Brit Pack (Luella, Matthew Williamson) this season is French-born, London-based Roland Mouret. An eclectic eye (past collections have included armor, smoking jackets, and lingerie-inspired pieces) and a sensual use of fabric turn his shows into must-see events.

10.Tom Scott (Gen Art)
Trained in the U.S. and Scotland, Tom Scott is crazy for cashmere and equally fond of asymmetry (think sweaters with one normal and one gigantic armhole). Although his approach is conceptual (translating antique patterns into knit pieces, for example), the results are unexpectedly elegant.

11.Vena Cava
The debut collection from Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai is inspired by turn-of-the-century Austrian decorative artist Dagobert Peche. Fresh out of Parson's, this bicoastal pair define their aesthetic as “sensitive and modest, with the objective being to illuminate the person instead of the article.” Amen to that.
