Opinions on wood effect heel boots?

And a nice red pair when dressing up Nanny Ogg style!

I wish! Those two are my heroines! I saw a lady dressed up as Nanny Ogg at a science-fiction convention I went to. She had the big, red boots, a complicated, bulky, yet surprisingly low-cut dress, the enormous, pointy hat with lots of flowers and fruit, a huge basket with a large, shabby, grey plush cat in it, and, of course, a broomstick!

I like the look. I feel they can be really nice if done right.

Cole Haan did a number of these styles this season.

I especially love this heel by Giuseppi Zanotti.

Saint Laurent's is pretty

chunky heels in that style are so bad.. but yes thesweetest was right that if it's done the right way it can look quite nice

but it usually looks gross and ugly
