Ralph Lauren has this beautiful cashmere cable dress in camel. He also makes a gorgeous cashmere cable long cardigan that matches. I have two questions. 1) In your opinion does the dress look better with or without the cardigan sweater? 2) Would the dress look good with a black long cardigan? (Which I already have.)

One more question. Would this outfit work with stiletto pumps or is it better with the boots? Thanks for the input.

1) Without. IMO, it would look better with a blazer than the cardi if it was cold
2) Yes, the black would look good if you opted for the cardi
3) Either would work :flower:

The dress is lovely. Enjoy ;)

ok !
i'm going to be totally honest . . i hate long cardigans !
but tht's just me . . !
the dress is ok . . & like curious said a blazer would really look better
i think w/the cardigan it's a bit samey & boring
personally i don't like the boots in the pic . . .
i think some roundtoe pumps would look cute !
:flower:

I've seen a lovely wrap cardigan, a little down the hip in a camel/beige color, and I think it's a real bargain..but I don't own a single piece of clothing in beige, it makes me really pale... :ninja: So I'm in a dilemma, because I love the lenght and shape of the coat but I dislike the color! But it's so cheap! To buy or not to buy!Argh...! :D
About your dress, it would def look better with a blazer or a black cardigan - it's a beautiful dress, and it would "disapear" under the cardigan in the same lenght and color. ;)

yes, i agree with spookygirl that the dress would dissapear if a cardi of the same length/color was put over it.. it also renders the dress shapeless.

I would go with a wrap cardi (black..) over it, please don't put a western brown belt over it :ninja:

If the color's bad on you, it's not a bargain at any price ;)

As far as the dress and long cardigan ... if you can get away with wearing just the dress (winter--brrrr), you should. The long cardigan looks really comfy and warm for a cold day. It would be great here instead of a coat. Don't see why the black wouldn't work ... why not take it to the store with you and try it? I rarely wear even two pieces from the same label, so my instinct would be to mix n match. I like the effect of camel on camel, the difference in length, and cable on cable though ...

I know, I know... it's just that feeling I get everytime I see a good and cheap piece of clothing... :innocent: ;)

I love long cardigans. I don't really know why but I feel they can lend some kind of elegance to a plain outfit. These pics are examples of what I see when I think of them and it's a rather appealing look to me.

If you're short (like me) don't buy it... those duster sweater things make me look like a hobbit. :D

^
i recently bought this vince cardigan that looks JUST like the big button long cardigans that chloe has been doing... except its much more lightweight and wearable imo... and so far this is the only longish cardigan that hasn't made me hobbit-like

Thanks for all the great input ladies! Upon further review, I agree with those who suggested that the "matching" long cardigan detracted from an already fabu dress. As a result, I think I'll buy the dress from RL because I personally think it is HOT. I also plan to wear it alone,..and....with my long black cardigan....AND with my black blazer. But....one more question...WHEN I wear the black cardigan with this dress...do I wear my chocolate brown knee high boots (w/ stilettoes) or my black stiletto knee high boots? (Both are leather vs suede) Thanks again for the input!
