Naomi-She looks nice.

Katie and Tom- They look ok.

Maria Shrivers- I like the nice and simple look she has going on.

Tyra Banks- The dress would have looked sooooo much better if it was just straight down without all that crap at the bottom, but she still looks very pretty.

Halle- Looks great, she never disappoints.

John Travolta and Wife- The look nice, I love his wife's dress, and she looks pretty.

Alicia Keys- She could do without the net on her head, her dress is ok, not good not bad.

Mariah Carey- No words .

Ashanti- She looks pretty.

Oprah- She looks divine and beautiful. I can't blame her for wearing a colored dress, I would have wanted to do the same.

Diane Sawyer- Nice dress, and she looks nice.

Diana Ross- Not feeling the dress.

Barbara Walthers- Her dress is nice.

Kimora- She actually looks really pretty, but the dress looks ugly from the waist down. It's a "yes yes noooo"

Janet- Pretty face.

Star Jones- She looks ok, I like the fact that she didn't go overboard.

Yolanda Adams- She has one of the best dress of the night and she looks amazing.

Angela Bassett- She looks ok.

Tracey Edmonds- I don't know if the girl or guy is tracey but they both look ok.

Nicole Murphy- I love her dress, she looks good too.

Shemar Moore and Kimberly Elise- They look cute together, they would make a cute couple.

Holly Robinson Peete- I don't like what she draped over her arm, but the dress looks ok.

Oprah pays tribute to pioneering black women at lavish Santa Barbara gala

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. Oprah Winfrey rolled out the silver carpet for a lavish tribute to pioneering black women, then strolled it herself in a red Vera Wang ball gown.

Guests including Usher, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were on hand for the ball Saturday night at the seaside Bacara Resort and Spa.

The talk show host joked with friends at the resort's entrance and praised the 25 honorees, including Coretta Scott King, Diana Ross, Maya Angelou and Cicely Tyson.

"These are women who, when I was growing up, made a difference for me," Winfrey told reporters, who weren't allowed inside the event. "The first time I saw Diana Ross and the Supremes on the Ed Sullivan Show, it changed my life."

Winfrey also linked the older black stars with their younger counterparts in a more intimate meeting Friday night at her Montecito home.
