Again she is being clever, instead of taking some heritage garment and just merely showing it again to remind everyone of the good ol' days (as we've seen Gaultier do in this very thread), she is taking an element of her past designs and making something very new with it.
This is quite different to say what, Nicolas Ghesquiere did with the visor hats everyone became obsessed with - they were just robbed from an original Balenciaga design, a hat to match the one-seam wedding dress in fact.
He may have modernized this hat somewhat, but he didn't do anything particularly new with it, apart from put it on some very ready-to-wear women which incidentally may have killed Mr Balenciaga if he was still alive.
