“A seductive woman is not adorned with sequins, she is not excessive with exaggerated splits and plunging necklines” she maintains. “In my opinion, a woman can be seductive by breaking away from the usual clichés, by being unconventional. She doesn’t have to be young at any price. What’s important is that she has a strong personality - seduction of the mind is much more important!”. Paola Frani’s favourite colour is black; a colour which is present in every collection. Another recurring theme is her love of art. “As I qualified at the Ravenna Art School”, continues Paola “I feel a very strong bond with anything that reminds me of my studies. The last collection, for example, was inspired by some pieces by Mario Schifano and in the past I have been inspired by Frida Kahlo, Futurism and Pop Art”. This is Paola Frani’s style. It’s a style that is renewed every season with conceptual inspiration, precious detail and experimentation with new materials.
Because my personal computer has become recently overwhelmed with her images, and I thought to share a couple...

I do see what you mean, I think I might have just picked out some of the outfits that appealed more to my personal taste! Which means that I included the sequins of sorts.

That's alright, you're not the only one... She's a relatively lesser-known designer, I believe. I actually only found out about her through firstview.com and then looked up her website on my own. She does design the label herself, although she has several young design graduates working under her as well. It is indeed based out of Milan, by the way.

In 1987, at the III Neomoda fair in Milan, Paola Frani won the prize, offered by Aeffe company, as the best newcomer and began a period of collaboration with the group. At the beginning of the Nineties, the Paola Frani label made its debut at Milano Collezioni, an appointment which has been renewed annually ever since. The showroom in Milan in 8, Via Carlo Botta was opened in 1992. This was established because of the need to control sales outlets, in particular those overseas, and in order to spread the image of the label worldwide. In subsequent years, the designer collaborated on several occasions with companies specialized in the production of shoes and knitwear. In 1996 the diffusion line PF was launched addressing a younger clientele. In January 2001, the company owned by the designer and her partner Davide Fusaroli, changed names from Scrupoli S.n.c. to Paola Frani S.r.l. Over the last few years, growing international success has led the designer to open the first own brand stores; Milano, Riccione, Capri, Porto Rotondo and Forte Village (Sardinia) in Italy, rue Des Rosiers and rue Saint Péres in Paris, Tokyo, Osaka and Kobe in Japan.

Some slightly more conservative outfits for those who requested. :flower:

And now for myself, fun and a few vaguely 20's inspired dresses!
(I altered the yellow for propriety's sake).

How interesting, I hadn't even thought about that element. I didn't actually see it unfourtunately... I found Paola Frani through firstview.com, it's fantastic how that site "introduces" me to so many smaller designers.

I really like the purple dress and the last picture of the brown dress/skirt...

Thanks purple...
