Paradis Magazine

I admit that I'm a fan of women nude photography and unfortunately, the majority of nudes now are models i.e. often thin, polished, perfect etc.. and the only alternative seems to be p*rn*gr*phy which is not for my taste. Of course there is the middle ground and I have many favourite 'nude photographers' but rarely this kind of thing is promoted in magazines.
I exactly don't understend, you like female nudes but not the ones of fashion models?(why!?) you would like nudes from more "normal" girls?
may be Leonard Nimoy is of your taste

I will definately be scanning Paradis issues once I'm in France (so in October)-_-
I'm waiting .... :)

For me, there exists many different types of nudes - for example, there is the 'nude as sculpture' which presents the human body as a shape, and is ideally suited to the bodies of models or athletes, because they have defined curves and angles.

Then there is the 'erotic scenario' which is a photoshoot set in a more atmospheric scenario, and requires a different sort of physique to create the necessary 'tension in the air'. For this type of shoot, you need a body that conveys the sense of the person being alive, and full of the unknown, and this is where an imperfect body comes into its own.

Just a personal view, but for me, it explains why nude fashion models aren't enough to satisfy the eye, and why a fuller menu is always welcome.

and this is where an imperfect body comes into its own.
I can see a lot of (beautiful) "imperfection" also in the fashion models but for most shots there is some weird digital retouching that ruin the naturality of models body ...
I like beautiful photos, no matter the subject, the problem is I can't previously tell you the photos I like because I need to see first to decide if I like it, I can't even assume a beautiful women is ok because a bad photographer can ruin the whole shoting session, here an example of Snejana Onopka in the hands of a bad photograspher http://maxwelld.livejournal.com/87442.html

and just for fun about nudit:y have you seen this?
(warning also nude males)

I think for the type of shoot that Snejana was sitting for, the readership likes the sensation that the photoshoot was done by an amateur, because it makes her seem like an attainable girl, one who lives next door. The style of the photography is designed to appeal to that particular fantasy of the reader.

I remember when one top-shelf UK magazine decided to go 'arty' with high-class photoshoots like fashion edits, it soon lost its audience and went bust. I bought it, but I must have been the only one.

I love seeing nude photography when it's well done, showcasing the body without just being about body parts. I love this magazine (so does my Hubby who looked all over Berlin for a copy for himself!) particularly the Anouck edit.

I'm in heaven ;) cause I'm pretty surprised a girl support my cause for more scans from paradise mahazine:p may be that are the x in our niknames

Now a girl is posting the pics!

These are horrible to scan because of the soft/out of focus. Given some of the poses it's not necesarily a bad thing they are not in focus. There are some more pics but they are just too blurry.

Which shoot was this?

I'm only sorry that I dawdled making my decision and missed buying the first issue - and it seems the second one isn't going to be stocked, which is a shame, because the first issue evidently sold... I'm still in hope that it's just been delayed, because I know magazine distributors in the UK are currently in the process of merging and all sorts of publications have been delayed.

Issue#2 came out months ago and has been selling well. Issue#3 is currently in the works.

dammit !!

I tried to buy it online but the only place that had it said it was "en rupture de stock". I looked at their own website, but you can't buy it from there either. Anybody knows a website that i could by it from ? I'm also intersted in the previous issue.

How can you launch a magazine in 2007 and not sell it online ???

the only website i found selling it:
http://www.bonati.fr/via/catalogue_detail.asp?context=van&icfam=14&codebarre=37805110100080002501
but as i said it's "en rupture de stock".

alxxxfast, I admit that I overgeneralized. (BTW I like the way you make a difference between 'normal' and 'models' :p). I guess I'm slightly flustrated with seeing young models (often teenagers) radiating with eroticism because many of them don't get it, so instead they keep doing the same 'sexy' pose again and again (half-open lips and half-closed eyes). It's not so much about bodies... I like eroticism 'realized', like the edit with Malgosia Bela, who is thirty, who is intelligent and knows how it's funny to be photographied on Freud's sofa. (and I don't mean all models by saying this)

as for the Snejana Onopka session, I find it a bit dramatic how the girl used to look and the way she's looking now. I had problems recodnizing her.

it's always the same story, a good photographer is not enough a good model neither, for a good people subject photo or photo session (dressed or undressed, male or female is not that important) we possibly need both and somethimes also a good make up artist (if the makeup is required) and an ispired Jurgen Teller with an ispired Malgosia Bela are a good mix but even if I think the photos are not that bad but certanly are not exeptional, I suspect they both can do better photos, this seems more a just_for_fun photo session :)

the "style" is the same but maybe the "guilty" bad photographer of some of the shots can be Hegre wife Luba and not (only) him, the sessionis are more than one so it's reasonable to think that both were unable to take some good photos of Snejana, for sure they are not good fashion photographers, she was way younger and with no help of a make up artist so it's easy to find some difficulties to recognize her as she was also not that good in front of the camera, but even a model needs some experience before being able to pose well and obviously she was only at the beginning...

for sure hegre financial income for his style of photos is good, but this is not because his photography style but just because young models are naked, if he was a good photographer he could try other kind of shothings with no risk for his income , but he simply do some point and shoth photos with an expensive camera and "inexpensive" girls (i'm not sayng his models are inexpensive but simply that he try to use poor models needing money and not professional ones so he can pay them a lot less)

can you scan anyway as if this was the idea of Jurgen Teller it's worth to take a look at the photos as they can be beautiful anyway no matter if they are out of focus ...
and if you also scan more editorials from the mag I'll love you more

P.S.
I must thank all the others that posted some scans from an interesting magazine,
I love you all (if you are girls ;) )

I meant to say that my photographs of the edit are totally out of focus. I think you will have to wait for someone to scan the magazine.

I don't think there are any editorials that I didn't post here, other than a few pics with Camille Miceli. I'll check at the weekend.

Just as a point of casual interest, does anyone here actually read the articles?

Ha ha, prosperk, have you? Yes, but I'm curious as well. Jaben?
