Paris shopping

Alouisa, as always it depends on what you're looking for.

There's the famous Marché Saint-Pierre and its area selling textiles or the Bouchara store next to the Galeries Lafayette on boulevard Haussmann.

The tissus Reine store has a website: http://www.tissus-reine.com/

But of course, there must be also more upscale stores.

Does anybody knows when the official sales start in France? I mean the "official" date, not the pre sales from Galleries Lafayette and such... I love shopping in France and I´m going as soon as the sales start...:) A collegue at work told me the 9th of January, isn´t that too late???

Your colleague got the date right. Sales always start late in France

Thanks very much Aby, I can´t wait to go to Biarritz and grab a pair of Prada shoes, with the discount,of course...:)

It's right on the front page of the GL website:

The Galeries Lafayette Winter Sales It’s SOLDISSIMES at the Capital of Fashion from 8 am on 9th January until 16th February!
Up to 50% discount on many major brands!
I was in Paris last week and stopped by GL...it was seriously a madhouse. Chinese and Japanese tourists everywhere crowding the rez-de-chaussée boutiques :yuk:.

When does the sales in Paris stop will be there the 20th of February.. will I be too late? Even for the boutique sales?

CL has two stores, one in the 7th arrond, and one in the 1st, i dont think they are that far from avenue montaigne but considering you dont have a lot of free time, you need to go by car.
Lanvin is on rue st.honore (or faubourg st honore)
balenciaga is very close to ave montaigne, just on ave george V
chanel is on ave montaigne
YSL is on faubourg st honore (YSL and Lanvin are very close- there is also a chanel right infront of YSL)
close usually close at 7pm (i think 6pm on saturdays

Sorry, but sales end around February 16th if I remember correctly.

Hanni, ALouisa had kind of the same question about textile shops and you can find my answer on post #560. Hope it helps.

Do you have to buzz yourself in the CL store on 39 rue Grunelle ? I dont like stores that its intimadating...Its kind of near the Le Bon Marche, yes?

Pucci Mama, Aby is correct the 16th but if you come late to the sales pretty sure all the nice stuff would of been taken by now.

Ok thanks.

I'm still looking forward to the shopping in Paris anyone know of good vintage shops that sells designers like Chanel, Alaia?

Stella McCartney will open her own store in the Palais Royal somewhere this year :flower:

Can somebody tell me if there's any TopShop store in Paris?

Sorry, no Topshop here in Paris. Colette did stock a handful of pieces from the Kate Moss Topshop collection. To be honest, I find the UK better for young and friendly highstreet picks as opposed to Paris -which with the exception of Zara, H&M and NafNaf - tends to be more expensive.

Oh. I was looking forward to shopping there. Thanks for the info.:flower:

I'm headed to Paris in a few days and I'm thinking I'll take the time to head up to the Marche au Puces at Clingancourt/St. Ouen. Is it worth it? I've heard good things but wanted to hear from someone who's been there. I know it' huge but I'm willing to really walk around and search for some good stuff!!
