Paris shopping

you guys need to tell me where exactly you went at clignancourt because i never really had any luck up there  well, once i did find a really cool street which had small stores.. one offering only vintage burberry trench coats, another fantastic rare lps and a third one haute couture gowns.. and so on.. however i was unable to find my way back from there which resulted in hours of walking around in a depressing neighborhood outside of la périphériue. so i don't think i'd ever be able to find it again. unfortunately. all i've ever seen otherwise is the typical, touristy crap that you can just as well buy in les halles. of course there are the antiques but i haven't found anything that i haven't seen matched at porte de vanves.
but i'd love to hear your stories :)

haha yes this is exactly what I was talking about, there are so many people that you can't find your way back! the only times i go there, i go really early.

i think it depends of what you're looking for, but i can recommend you the ones i know, you'll be able to find where they are on the markey by using the search engine on http://www.parispuces.com/...

I was wondering if someone has already gone to the Chloé stock and if its really interesting to buy bags there ...

i want to buy the large tote from anna corinna, but it's not available in denmark, and no european site offers it.

does anybody know if it is possible to buy somewhere in paris? i'm going to stay there from the 14th to the 18th of february.

i<3dk, I just can't remember the name of the boutique that supposedly sells it in Paris. I'll look for you but I don't know if it'll be interesting.

I got my AC bag on ebay and with the dollar rate vs euro, it's cheaper to get it on the web.

Aby - I have thought about eBay, but I'm always scared if the bag turns out to be fake. Do you live in Paris? I really hope, that I will be able to find a boutique, which has the bag, when I'm in the city! So yes, I would be glad, if you would look for me :)

Going to be in Paris next week...anyone know of any specialty "stock "shops there that sell past season Balenciaga?

TIA

You also have websites like revolveclothing, lunaboston, shopbop which sell the brand.

So, about Paris stores selling AC, there are 2 adresses:

the first boutique I thought about is a shop called 4, Pré aux Clers located on 4, rue du Pré-aux-Clers in the 6th arrondissement and there's Calypso, 25 av Pierre 1er de Serbie in the 16th.

Apparently, Calypso has a larger choice of bags.

what are some of the newest , most avant garde boutiques in Paris? Is there a hot shopping area? I'm tired of all of the same designer names that you see in every town around the world. I would like to find some newer, less well known deigners of women's wear. I don't wast to look like everybody else, wearing the same labels. It gets boring and lacks individuality/

Those are two nice boutiques:
LILEI BOUTIQUE
43, rue de la Folie Méricourt
75011 Paris
tel : 01 48 06 98 37
web : lilei-prod.com

Surface To Air
46 Rue de L'Arbre

75001 PARIST

+ 33 1 49 27 04 54
and this one for jewellery

26, rue de meaux 75019 Paris

Yeah they are close during the Bastille day but I don't think they are during the summer holiday may be some of them close one or two weeks but not the whole summer.

yah, i'm leaving tomorrow with my bf :)

now I've read the whole thread - but I still have a few questions.

1.we are going to stay here http://www.hotel-international-paris.com/ (6, Rue Auguste-Barbier 75011). can you recommend some nice restaurants or things to see in this area - maybe shopping?

2.where do we find some cool bars og clubs? we like to go out, drink and have fun (we're a young couple - 20 and 23) - where to go, when you're into house/lounge music? or just somewhere untraditional? I love places that are different or maybe with some weird concept also.

3.some shops for good shoes bargains? marc jacobs etc?

4.and in general; cool, small, impressing places/spots worth visit?! tell me about your favorite places.

^^

Restaurants:
-Cool decor: Buddha Bar (a classic you'll need a reservation for)
-Traditional: It's either Au pied de Cochon (near to the cool Agnes b. boutiques for men and women), or La Mere Catherine (if you go to Montmartre... the only decent place that survives to the awfully crowded Plade du Tertre)
-Obscene kitsch and Art Deco: Maxim's... for champagne, oysters and caviar... but i wouldnt go there if that sort of lavish trashiness isnt your thing
-The best sweets and macaroons: Ladurée of course. they are all over Paris... rue royale, av. montaigne, and more...
-Great lunch: Café Marly, located in one of the wings of the Louvre, you'll enjoy the amazing architecture of the building's facde.
-The only way to get to the top of la Tourre Eiffel, and not spend the whole morning in line: Le Jules Verne, but trust me, they will make you pay the fact that they have to take all the food up there ;)
-Night club (where you can have dinner too): L'etoile. unfortunately, the only one i could go to during my trip to paris this summer, but it was REALLY good! very good music! VIPs, and all that hype! dress up (or they wont let you in :ninja:)... what's best about it, is that it is located right in the center of Paris (right next to l'arc de Triomph)
-The Best Club Sandwich in Paris: Café Panis! right next to Notre Damme cathedral (right across the bridge in rive gauche side). They do home made ice tea (which is probably the best in Paris too ;))

For Marc Jacobs you have a beautiful store at Le Palais Royal.

^ I can't imagine going to Paris to buy Marc Jacobs :ninja: :innocent:

Btw, I recently bought The Riches of Paris ... any comments on it?

^^ palais royal may be a beautiful spot in the city, but the people at marc jacobs (the ones that i found) were true ********** (** means no good)

you just can't go to Palais Royal and chose Marc Jabobs instead of Didier Ludot, which given that they only carry womenswear for me was kind of a museum (a very very very small one, but beautiful anyway).
i would also recomend visiting the IBU gallery (www.iqons.com/cyril+von+paris)
or just anything that isnt marc jacobs!

Are stores open in Easter weekend meaning Good Friday and Monday, in London Monday is a Bank Holiday but back in my country was a normal day, although all the shops were closed to compensate the fact that people worked on Friday. How is it in Paris?

I'm going to Holland for some days and I'm thinking of going to Paris on my way to shop. I want to go to the usual suspects, Sonia Rykiel, APC, Isabel Marant. Thanks in advance for any information.:flower:
