i wanna live in paris

Does anyone else, besides me, think that people in Paris have the best street style?

i don't wanna kill your dreams ...
but most of the people posted onto this thread are people working in the fashion industry, people attending shows etc.

But, still, it's true we [french] have great style ....
no seriously not everyone has great style in France ... even in Paris ...
I never dare asking the french style-hunters-bloggers, but seriously ... I think they only shot in always the same areas ... which are always concentrated areas with loads of stylish [or wannabe stylish] people ...
:innocent:

And I'm sure it's the same for all the bloggers ...
Don't trust the blogs to define a 'national' style, just enjoy the pictures they take and offer you ...

It's true. Both times I've been to Paris I have been dissapointed by the supposed 'Style Capital'. London has much more daring people but then again we also have a high percentage of chavs :|

This is a little off-topic, but is chavs teens who dresses tacky in like burberry scarfs/caps etc?

I don't necessarily get much inspiration from more daring outfits to be honest. Some of my favorite people do dress up in outfits that wouldn't be considered conservative, but simple outfits can inspire me more since I'd actually wear them myself.

i have to agree with berlinrocks, i mean i've lived in paris my whole life and never see
people dress like sartorialist's pics EXCEPT during fashion week, where fashion industry
people are walking advertisements and dress up to shows like if they were going down
the catwalk themselves... so it's kind of a big misrepresentation of "paris street style",
actually i can easily tell half the people posted here aren't even French lol..

personally i find these styles although "flawless" in a editorial setting, a bit forced and
exagerated for the street...

on the contrary i find real parisians have a kind of an understated effortless elegance
supported by a unforgivingly slim silouette, and believe me that also makes a difference!!

there is not "one" paris style though, as each district has it's own attitude and influences,
which is another reason why this thread is so flawed as indeed the bloggers mainly only
shoot up at the same 2 spots: in front of colette, and around etienne marcel ..
