the title is not a typo---
it is supposed to be all lower case...
:D

Concept

Pas-de-Calais, Northern France.
On a clear day looking over the Channel, the white cliffs of Dover come into view.
The famous "Dentelle de Calais" is renowned as one of the most beautiful laces in the world.
Inspired by the rich heritage of this region,
its fine delicate lace, the outdoor lifestyle, set in a stunning landscape,
this state of mind and way of life are the sources behind the pas de calais label.
An essence of purity and nostalgia added to modern casual design,
the pas de calais spirit is a romantic contemporary universe.
Combining a variety of traditional dyeing and advanced techniques used with cotton, linen and silk,
pas de calais develops its own original textiles.
Natural materials are harmoniously composed into a comfortable wearable collection.
The color tones, like the surrounding landscape, are based on soft naturally subdued shades of
ecru, sand, khaki green, chalk white, dove gray and coal black.
pas de calais proposes a balanced subtle mixture of casual silhouettes in wholesome fabrics highlighted by touches of decadence that give a freedom of personal styling that crosses all frontiers.

I think there IS a typo in the title of the thread, it's pasDEcalais.

nice thread, softgrey  ... I've been in love with one of their dresses for weeks now, so simple and pretty:

haha...
oops!
thanks...

^_^

glad you like it MP...

the dress also comes in black and there is a top version of it too...
it's really nice in person...

so many nice things that i can't find any images of online...
:ermm:

i actually think their styling is quite blah and doesn't do any of the stuff justice...
it's much better IRL, imho...
the ones i posted are the best pics i could find...

you know,it kind of recalls that easy-cool sophistication we used to see from gabriele strehle at strenesse.

so funny you should say that scott because i really liked that stuff and still have pieces from when she was there that i wear regularly...

i think that the images are deceptive though...
a lot of the stuff is actually reminiscent of sacai...
with mesh layers and lace bits...
and then there are really tailored pieces that look like old strenesse, and then there are really washed natural cottons and linens that are like dosa or cp shades...
and then there is some bohemian stuff...

i really think there is a little something for everyone...
and as they say in their own description, it really depends how you style something and what you wear it with...
it could be really dumpy if you wear it layered with loose bottoms...
or it could be really simple and clean and classic...
or it could be sexy and bohemian...

personally- i bought a pirate shirt...
:argg:...

i loved gabi strehle too....she was sort of the branquinho before before the latter evolved and strenesse went through a major overhaul in aesthete in the mid-2000s. it's not like it used to be.

but i see what you mean....i had to go back and look a little further than the spring stuff and sacai is a great comparison....maybe a quieter gary graham as well.....definitely a real mélange of styles.
