I can't wear this look (it's too confining for me and I always wear clunky shoes), but it reminds me of when I was in Paris and all these Parisian women looked impossibly chic and feminine in their pencil skirts. I think it's a great look, especially for the office. Feminine in a powerful way.
I just bought my own high waisted pencil skirt ( bad top for it, i know, but had to try it on ) - I think im gonna buy a few more, but maybe not high waisted.
I love how flattering they are and how they silhouette perfectly on your waist and hips with an emaculate fit. I saw a lady not so long ago on Oxford Street who wore hers wonderfully and quite different from how i usually see them dressed. She had a white pencil skirt on with a long royal blue vest top and completed her look with a tanned waist belt. I've tried a few before but haven't found one with that perfect essential fit, and can't really pull them off as great as others due to my shortness in height, but absolutely it's a really gorgeous and feminine piece to own.
i love this trend too, i have quite a few of these because they are so flattering, but i have one in particular that im in love with, its black and is reallllllllly high waisted and makes me look really slim...i love it!!!i thibk i might wear it for my cousins engagement party, cant wait!!! i hope this trend stays around for as long as possible!!!
I think the girl in the pic Inaya posted look great with flats but I do think it look better with high-heels I use heels all the time so is not strange for me but I couldnt see Pencil skirts in flats!!!
American Apparel are now making (budget friendly) lovely pencil skirts that hit above the knee, in great fall colors like Red, Cranberry, Black, Eggplant...
