Personal Style Etc.

I am a Scorpio too and mine kind of fits. I love dark colours and my wardrobe is mainly black. However, I like sporty and loose shapes/silhouettes although more form fitting "sexy" clothes suit and flatter my figure more.... I strive against my Scorpio nature!

Right now I am loving anything draped and crossover tops.

I have noticed that older i get more i invest in quality. Less h&m more acne etc..
Less id more and quality before quantity and all that crap :P

Was thinking the other day that I haven't added a bag to my collection in a long long time...

And I haven't really coveted anything to the level where I've sort of dreamed of incorporating it into my wardrobe and it's compelled me to actually put some money away.

It made me a little sad... that there hasn't really been anything out there that truly excited me for awhile.

I have been dressing so well lately.
And by that I mean I have put little more effort on my appearance.
YAY!

^^the world thanks you for making it a more pleasant place...
;)...

Soo confused ATM. I've just returned from 7 months in fashion Siberia, where personal style and shopping was way down on my list of things to worry about. I'm home now and slowly getting into old habits. But I think my style has changed a little (maybe because I haven't really been exposed to anything fashion related).
It's summer here in Denmark as well, a season I've never really been equipped for.

I think I need go through my wardrobe, figure out what I have, what I love and what I need.
Gotta be ruthless! :judge::muscles:

I need some help! Do you guys recall any fashion shows that were inspired by the 20s so I could look up? I have a few 20s inspired pieces and I need to see how to style them appropriately! Thanks in advance :flower:

^^I think you'd be better off looking at something like Great Gatsby...
that's the epitome of 20's styling, no?

i haven't seen it myself though...
:P

I think if you look at runway shows you will see modern interpretations of 20s style. If you want a more authentic look, watching Chicago and The great gatsby (the old and new version) would be helpfull.

Yeah, I watched The Great Gatsby...
In fact wanted a modern twist to the 20s thats why thought of fashion shows. Anyway, I did my own interpretations so I guess its good enough

i plan all these trendy fashion-y outfits but when i actually get dressed, i don't wear any of it the way i planned to...

like...ever...:ermm:...
in the end, i dress according to my mood that day...
i guess my mood is just not very trendy or fashion-y for the most part...
...

i do enjoy creating the looks though...
^_^

i finally wore my long wool yohji mermaid skirt...
wore it to the opera with a full length mink coat and tall black boots...
it was so warm and so comfy...

i need to work out a better outfit/top for it, but i am certain it will look great with a certain pair of new boots i've got because it has a lovely slit up the back of one ankle and the boots lace up the back and will just peek out...

can't wait for the snow to clear up so i can wear them together...
yay!

wore the YY mermaid skirt again for my b-day dinner...

this time i wore it this way
LIMI feu chiffon pirate top with knitted band at the bottom (skinny blk tank underneath)- sleeves pushed up
Y's cutaway gabardine jacket (sleeves rolled)...
a.f.vandevorst boots that lace up the back
MMM silver multi chain bangle
black mesh ring with giant pearl
ugo cacciatori anchor necklace (naturally)
little black fur jacket and mogolian lamb fur scarf
dries black bag w. gold embroidery

just a few of my favourite things!
^_^

*the front slit really opens when i walk...and the back slit swirls nicely around the other ankle...
the stretchiness of the fabric makes it super comfy even though it is wool...
i actually did not wear anything on my legs and i was perfectly warm and comfortable...
it's very soft on the skin and feels very light...
it's so great...i love it~!!!

I have been feeling a bit ... sloppy looking lately, even though I have been putting more effort into my clothing than I have done in a long time. I think it is mainly because my hair is a mess since I am having my bangs grow into the same lenght as the rest of my hair.

Today I did an easy updo and smacked on a bit of lipstick (and no other makeup) and I feel much better. It is amazing how little things can make such a big difference in regards of how you feel about yourself.

wore the YY mermaid skirt again for my b-day dinner...

i have a jean paul gaultier classique mermaid skirt. i need to find something form fitting to wear as a top. maybe a tight tank top. i havent worn it outside of the house as i dont want it to drag on the ground. might need to get it shortened slightly.

oh lucy- i hope you figure it out and let that thing out of the house!
i actually went the other way and found something loose to wear on top...
i wore a tank, like you were thinking, but then i put something loose and sheer and a bit longer over the top..
otherwise, i would feel quite self-conscious...

but that's just me- always trying to conceal the curves...

...

i was just reunited with some old friends...

a chocolate brown lambskin leather jacket with a cross over mouton collar-
dolman sleeves and banded elastic bottom that has two snaps at the hip
*very 80's---lol---and still like new because it was too big when i bought it and so i gave it to my mom, who hardly wore it...
yay!

a black wool coat (calvin klein)- belted trench style with belted cuffs and very long (probably early 90's)...
had also given this to my mom because she said she needed a black coat and then she got one so she never wore mine...

so happy to have these back now!
you have no idea...
they are even better than i remembered them, which is always the case when seeing old friends...
...

and neither one looks even the least bit dated...
if anything, they look fantastically modern!
plus- the quality is insanely good...
oh joy!

just had to share...^_^
yeah---i love my pieces to death...
literally...
