TLC Green Lights Series Hosted by Supermodel and Activist Petra Nemcova

TLC has given a green light to an eight-part series starring international supermodel and activist Petra Nemcova. "The Petra Nemcova Project" (working title) will travel the globe in search of undiscovered model talent, who will be brought to New York to audition for potential contracts with Next Model Management. Petra Nemcova will serve as a mentor and friend to the prospective models, as they learn the business of fashion and modeling.http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/
Using her own life experiences, Petra will advise the models on how to succeed in the fashion industry, and will also underscore the importance of having a well-rounded life, including giving back to communities important to each of them. Next will ultimately determine how many of the models deserve a contract with the agency.
Petra Nemcova has taken the fashion industry by storm since she was crowned cover girl of the highly anticipated Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2003. She has appeared in advertising campaigns for high-end brands such as Pantene, Lancaster, Graff, La Perla, Max Factor, Clarins, Cartier, Rampage and most recently, Fortunoff. Petra's sultry looks have been featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, InStyle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Ocean Drive and Marie Claire to name a few.
A survivor of the 2004 Asian Tsunami, Nemcova founded the Happy Hearts Fund in 2005 to aid children in need who have suffered loss or hardship as a result of natural, economic or health-related disasters. Happy Hearts has raised over $1.5 million to help children in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Pakistan live healthy, happier lives filled with hope instead of fear.

*Sighs* another ANTM knockoff. A joke. I mean is Petra even a "supermodel"?

Pantene...and high-end. You're kidding, right?

I mean while I will watch, Petra doesn't have any high fashion credibility whereas Tyra had a pinch.

she isn't,no. but you have to respect the cause. obviously a cause she's involved with because of her own circumstances as an Asian Tsunami survivor. i can completely understand why it's such a close thing to her heart having experienced her own and the human devastation there.

Eh....I'm not a fan of Petra. Besides, she doesn't seem like much of a 'supermodel' to me

Not to be a b*tch but I wonder if she got all those commercial gigs before or after the Tsunami....

i heart petra. even if she is a swimsuit model.
realistically, they can't use a high fashion model... the average person has no idea who hana soukupova is.

Have any of these reality models really become "the next TOP model?"
I don't watch these show, but I really don't remember hearing of any of the contestants going that far.

The only one I know that actually is "a top model" probably Suvi Koponen from Finland's NTM

Whenever I ehard Suvi was from a NTM show I lost interest in her. I think those shows curse people. They are entertaining, though.
