pit stains.... HELP!

Okay, I'm a guy and I've had it with pit stains. Everytime I have a white shirt of any sort, it eventually gets this nasty yellow-ish ring/spot under where the arm pits are... it grosses girls out when you raise your arm up... and it usually faintly stays even after you wash the shirt... there's still a sort of discoloring... so my question is, what can I do about this problem? Obviously, I wear deodorant, but I can't help how much I sweat... any suggestions? Please tell me there's something I can buy or use to remedy this problem...

Best investment I've made are good ol' white V neck Jockey undershirts. 1. there a barrier for sweat, no wet marks in meetings, dates etc. 2. They save your expensive dress shirts from stains 3. Its cheaper to pitch a $5 undershirt with stains then an expensive dress shirt.

If you wear a havier cotton dress shirt like me the undershirt is more or less un-noticable and in my case I prefer the deep V neck so I can where the top button or two open and not have It appear that I'm wearing an undershirt.

Which antiperspirant do you use? Stains are usually a consequence of bad ingredients. Try using another antiperspirant.

Its most likely your deodorant, the deodorant is suppose to keep you dry and you should not be sweating just from being on a date or in the office.

Individuals have different metabolisms, so it is meaningless to say someone "should not" sweat doing this or that. Then there is the question of ambient temperature.

I agree with thats_haute that an undershirt is the best way to save your good clothes from stains.

You can experiment with different deodorants (or antisperspirants, although I think that if your body needs to cool off, you should let it) and see if that helps.

That's actually a very good point! Most people don't really sweat that much, it's basically the smell you want to avoid...

I will say that I do believe it's the aluminium that causes the stains, for what it's worth...

People have been sweating freely since time began, but the problem with pit stains is relatively "new" so it shouldn't really be the sweat in itself that causes stains...

I believe that there is nothing wrong with antiperspirants. The body just puts out what it wants to put out elsewhere. After all we sweat all over our body, but the awful smell is only produced on certain well-known areas, so why not use antiperspirants there.
Also in my experience most antiperspirants don´t produce stains.

I have the same problem. Happens even when I don't use deodorant/antiperspirant. I haven't found any good solutions yet...all I can say is, find a good stain remover?
