Stop. Paying. Attention. To. Either. One. Of. Them. Was social climbing as a Baldwin not enough? The entire focus is on BIEBER here, can't believe she or anyone would ever settle for that. Viva Bieber? Seriously?! This made me throw up in my mouth a bit

It rhymes like a pop title. They got married in secret to be fair to them. And look at the legendary fashion icons from HRH Monaco to the Kennedy White House who "social climbed" via marriage.....

Save your sick for the real villains in 2019. That last Bieber record was pretty darn GOOD!

From the most outstanding girl -Binx- and the most outstanding cover and edit -Bella by Wales-... to this piece of sh$t?

I don't even know who she is and I'm feeling quite embarrased to defend them everytime. Thank god they have a really nice content.

It really is sad. Does Hailey truly believe she has nothing of interest to offer except her father and husband?

Despite that I actually do think she’s a good model, and she should be pushing that agenda.

REALLY nice content! Saviours of the industry! :brows:

I really don't think these are proper/final covers helmutnotdead. They've been up to all sorts of cover games over the Christmas period on their Instagram.

They have a price on it! I know they cover it up with a big sticker in whichever mall you purchase the mag from in Toronto so you are maybe not used to seeing it but these defo ain't fake.

Also what makes you think there is a Teller cover? Or is this mag now as predictable as those you have such great disdain for?

Still, shocked that Ms Dance is holding strong as Ashley Heath's plaything. Would have assumed he would have tired of her a long time ago. I'd rather have the real Brianna Capozzi rather than some pale imitation mixed with a touch of Bruce Weber.

I'm just glad Charlotte Wales had the common sense not to get embroiled in this mess, lol.

All Brianna Capozzi's best stories were with Stevie Dance as creative direction. That's so clear when you see Brianna's recent mistakes..... No comment re the "touch of Bruce Weber".....

All those POP covers at Christmas on their Instagram had a price and bar code on them. They definitely weren't printed.

Always a Teller cover, no? Always wonderful!

I always enjoy your encyclopaedic knowledge of Pop, it's almost as though you work there to understand so much about it. Dare I say you are it's biggest fan? Does your love stretch the full 20years or just since Ms Grand exited the project?

Brianna Capozzi is best with Haley Wollens. No question about it, she pushes her to places.

These covers are awful, but Hailey's recent work in Vogue Arabia has gone a long way towards making me like appreciate her beauty and potential. I know people are jumping down her throat because her association with male relatives and her husband are helping her career, but I don't really get that criticism. There are countless women connected to thousands of famous men who try for this kind of work and don't make it. Didn't her cousin, with a far more famous father and Oscar-winning mother also try to be a model? And she's gotten nowhere near where Hailey has. She's beautiful, but perhaps she works hard and photographers, editors, stylists, and peers find working with her to be pleasant? Your dad being a d-list celebrity can only help so much and she was still getting a fair amount of work before Justin Bieber.

I don't think we can compare now with when her cousin tried many years ago. Social media and Photoshop changed everything. If her cousin was married today to the biggest male pop star in the world and had close to 20 millions followers, I'd say there's a good chance she'd have done a lot better. And if Hailey had tried a few years ago before social media, she wouldn't have been getting Vogue covers.
I mean Hailey is cute but you can't blame us for wanting more than cute.

I don't follow her career closely at all, but social media has been around for well over a decade now (singers and models were being discovered on Myspace, if I remember correctly) and Instagram has been popular for several years (I've had it for 8 years). Her cousin with the more famous parents is only 1 year older than Hailey, so surely she would have equal benefit of social media. I've just checked her Wikipedia and it says Hailey's been active as a model for over 4 years. She was even featured in American Vogue in January 2015, and she was getting covers, runway shows, and ad campaigns before Justin, who she's only been married/engaged/whatever to since this past summer. Clearly the Baldwin name helped her, clearly Bieber's name will continue to help her, but it seems like there's still years inbetween the door being opened for her and her marrying a pop star that signify career advances she can take credit for herself. Even with the last name and the husband, if she didn't have so many millions of social media followers, no one in the industry would give a hoot about her. If the content she shared/created via social media led to millions of followers, that's a credit to her, isn't it?

Add to that, I've never understood why people are so resentful of nepotism in the modeling industry. It's a shallow business. Why is getting preferential treatment because you were lucky enough to be born into a famous family so much worse than getting preferential treatment because you were lucky enough to inherit your family's genes that made you beautiful?

I don't mind nepotism as long as the model in question is actually modelesque or has the skill to model. For instance, Kaia Gerber's success is justified because unlike Hailey, Kendall, or Gigi, she can deliver both on runway and in images. There are some misses, but she can improve, which is why unlike those girls, she can actually become even better in the future.

Besides, the industry may be shallow, but some girls--who are arguably a lot more exceptional and remarkable than the likes of those nepo girls--actually had to work hard to be where they're at now.

Just on the matter of Ireland Basinger-Baldwin, I'd like to add of all the nepo models, she was the one who imo had the most promise, it just never happened for her. She firstly was known not only by her famous mum and dad, but also her personal exploits (an open lesbian dating an AA woman at the time, and much of the tabloid chatter centered around how Alec would take it) Add to that she had the kind of wholesome, curvy physique and confident presence to go along with it, but since she was active after Kate Upton and before Ashley Graham, most magazines didn't know what to do with her. As we all know by now, fashion only really accommodate curvier shapes from campaign/runway/cover after Ashley Graham. She couldn't get the kind of industry backing that Crystal, Ashley or Kate got which ultimately kicked off their careers. I liked her because based on the few interviews I've read at the time, she really wanted to go at it on her own and refused to play the social media game, or let her mum chaperone her to go-sees like Kendall, the Hadids and Kaia. There wasn't any candids or soundbites about her parents coming from her either. That ultimately counted against her and she was relegated to a mixed bag of irrelevant titles and a minor VF write-up. So yeah, a real shame she never took off.

As for Hailey, I must say I didn't always despise her. I remember her early Guess campaign was stellar because it was on brand with her look. Since that it's been downhill for her. It's all because of her looks. She doesn't look like like a high fashion model who can appear on Vogue Russia, Italia and US. I'm always getting girl-on-the-street vibes from her. Plus she never try to model. I imagine it's because she's so insecure? At least with the others they actually look like hf models.

So POP, dont know why I expected a little more headed into 2019? Miss Baldwin-Beiber has managed to pull off a few mainstream commercial gigs (Guess etc) but no matter who shoots her, the HF thing falls flat every time. Her profile is distracting, something about the curve of her nose is off and pulls focus. Sketchers, reality TV, Dove commercials, show hosting etc are truly a better fit. We'll see how much higher she climbs working the Justin angle for covers and press. Disappointing that the industry or anyone else for that matter is on board. Same Maxim faced expression in every image. Pop has hit a depressing low with this mess. Been trying to quietly ride out the latest wave of Baldwin-Beiber's press gambit but the slew of covers is making it difficult.

Can I add the fact that Hailey didn't post anything about these covers on her social medias? What's the point of hiring an instagram model (because that's part of her modelling success together with he name, let's say it) if she doesn't even use it to promote your magazine lol..

Because they're not the final covers as I suspect???

What's the point? I'd guess publicity and chat all over the internet?

I'd be very surprised if Hailey posting wasn't in the agreement. Must be in this day and age no? And why slag off Hailey Bieber while monitoring her Instagram account here? You're an expert, a specialist in the field? Yes, lol
