there's a handful but here are two of my favorites. the first one's lacroix couture (as worn by naomi watts). it's very balenciaga (also looks like cristobal's toulouse lautrec- inspired dress). and the black, velvet chanel dress featured in the chanel no.5 commercial with nicole kidman. very classic, chic, simple and just divine! here are some of my other picks. some of them are quite esoteric and may be debatable but i think these are gorgeous, delicate, intricate and absolutely admirable! the first two are mcqueen. the second two are by ysl couture. the gold dress would be striking sans the sleeves. i included two pantsuits as i forgot the topic, but they still are great evening looks. the second row consists of balenciaga creations which i think are brilliant. I also love this one from the same collection..i didn't realize it was a dress till i checked the Marc Jacobs site. I just thought it was 2 seperate pieces...it's not really my style but i love how it looks so grungy yet elegant..i would like to see someone like Courtney Love or Gwen Stefani in it...i think they could pull it off

jssy, the back of that last Marc Jacobs dress is soo gorgeous. I'd say paired with black leather opera gloves and a high sandal it could look glamourously quirky.
